Did you use another preference file (Picasso96Settings) ? You can change the preference file you want to use in the monitor icon.

Apparently such thnigs do exist. There's a supposed example of a mobility 9600 on a desktop AGP card at http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=80184&item=5206889470&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW

I'm quoting myself: "Installer failed with file Libs/Warp3DPPC.library. But I managed to install everything anyway (after removing that certain file from archive and ofcourse I copied it to right place manually at first). MD5sum is ok with that update-file."

Well installer suggested me to upgrade that xadmaster.library at first and I did it. But I forgot to do that "avail flush" thing. So I think that old version of that library was still in memory. (If I remember it right installer didn't remind me to do that.) That's probably the reason why installer failed with "base.lha". So it was my own mistake not to do "avail flush" thing. I tested installation of update again and everything went ok this time.

Quote: "And as always, all GUI prefs should be in one program, not in 5-6 or so"

Well that "window backdrop picture/pattern" thing should be with gui.prefs and not in wbpattern.prefs. But I like there is program for wbpattern like it is now. If I change backdrop picture of workbench using preset file I don't want it to change gui.prefs at the same time.

I am using Picasso96Settings. This is listed in the monitor icon.

No other resolutions are offered to me. Only those three.

Hmm- you can re-import new p96 modes if you dig around a bit on your OS4 update1 CD or on the original media. Went through this one a while back, although not sure why it emoved existing modes- are you sure you mean to say it did, rather than just detached them so didn't whoe up in Screen Modes?

(just checking..)

Cheers for another great update, installed all sweet.
The only prob for me was that my wireless card no longer works, so had to revert back to update 2.
this is only a temporary measure, it will be back and running on my machine again soon if the prism2.drivers are updated or I can get some spare money together for an ethernet bridge.
(Did suggest I run a lead from router downstairs to my A1 upstairs but partner is havin none of it! )
Anyway id like to say that it all went smooth, system seamed extreamly stable and faster generally all round, DMA all fine.
Tried a couple of warpos programs like amigaAmp, and wipeout and had no probs here (execept ones stated).
Anyway a great big thanks for another great up date.
(I`ll stop now, Im starting to sound like Helgis! )

I think that is what I need to do. What are the files called? I just spent 30-45 minutes searching my orginial OS4 install CD and cannot find any files which seem to be the correct ones.

I remember a thread about this happening to someone and a solution to this problem, but I cannot even find this thread either.

Yeah, they seem to be deleted. All I can find is 320x240, 640x480, and 800x600. Of course I selected 800x600. The workbench edges overlap the screen slightly on all four sides. I could put up 800x600 if I could get it to stay within my screen size.

@ Derfs:

1. Turn off and unplug the A1.

2. Get a good nights sleep.

3. Plug in and turn on your A1 and do the picasso and screenmode resets (again!!)

4. Hope for the best

Personally, I'm afraid to reboot at this point. The update went flawlessly last night including the semi-automatic reboot in picassomode.

But after I had used the new update for a while, I rebooted, and got nothing but a black screen following the kickstart loading.

That went on for about three hours last night until I just gave up. Whether booting from the HD or the CD, all I got was a black screen after loading the kickstart. Usually, I couldn't even get it to attempt a boot from the CD.

Tonight, it booted from CD, and has now rebooted a few times from the HD.

I dun'no. Must be voodoo (not the graphics card kind, either )

Paul

I renamed xpkmaster/xadmaster/xfdmaster libraries
and rebooted so no one of the will be loaded.

Still when trying to update with upd3 it asks me if
i want to install on sys: and then the install window
appears and complains base.lha is corrupt.
It dont ask me if i want to install if first.

However yesterday, the first time i tryed to update
it said i had old xfd or maybe it was xad and i said yes.

Now when i renamed all of them to another name it still
complains.

If you get tired of this just say :) As anyway i used lha
to unpack and install manually.

Do other people get crash with PFPaint and when continue
get strange colours ? Im using radeon 9200.

Hey thanks, although my snooping already found that. I copied over "Picasso96Settings.76, because it looked as if it had all the resolutions. Then changed the name of the file that was there to "Picasso96Settings.old", then dropped the ".76" from the new file.

When I started the program up all the resolutions were there again. I attached the resolution I wanted and saved it, then rebooted.

I guess what I did was wrong because now it boots into a blank grey workbench screen and Grim Reapers with:

Guru Meditation: 80000003
Task 0194a670 ("C:SetPatch")
generated an error of type DSI on address 01453be0
Redzone was not damaged
Stackpointer is inside bounds

Clicking on "Continue" results in:
"Cannot Open Window Class"

I am not sure what to do now.

I suppose I need a martini and good night's sleep.

The 750GX issue has apparently been resolved. Re-enable your cpu cahce after the update and chime in on the thread in the forums RE: 750GX issue fixed in update 3.

Yeah I know! But I just wanted wanted a little preview news until I got home
and could try it myself. Now that I have tested I can confirm that it is working
just dandy with IBrowse and atleast twice as fast

Btw I never had the cache turned off permanently, just when I used IBrowse.

UDMA for my harddrive and DVD is just great. The best new feature IMHO
Too bad though that Overlay didn't make it in, MPlayer is still too slow to view
movies and DVD's, especially DVD's, on my machine
Hopefully it'll make it in those small updates to the graphics driver and warp3d
updates the Friedens have been talking about.

@Moxee

Not sure what's up- I didn't overwrite my original prefs with the new file back when I did this, but imported them instead.

Did you also:
remove amigaOne.card?
let the new kicklayout overwrite your old one?

Just did a clean install yesterday, everything went smoothly except for P96 problems which were easy to solve.

I decided to go for a clean install to avoid possible problems, besides, sometimes it's nice to rebuild your environment. And I also think the biggest problem when updating your OS to newer version is your old environment.

Anyways, great job Hyperion, as always. Big thumbs up.

me too - Wipeout2097 is 'ard, but I managed to scrape through 3 or 4 laps ! (demo)

Heretic looked really nice, once I'd got the renderer / screenmode settings right.

for some reason the Shogo:MAD demo (off an AACD) opened the initial window, and then locked the WB...

I also cant use Mixer - I get the 'No Cards', and then it Grims. anyone point me to a solution ?

also, are there any demos/games that will show off nicely my R7000's abilities ?

That's exactly what I got. Had to revert to the backup
of the stand before updating.

Hyperion? Could we have better step by step installation guide?
It seems there are many hidden issues we should sort alone

GlQuake. Remember that both 2D and 3D drivers for Radeon cards are not optimized yet and miss features (like overlay for 2D).

Well, it's quite simple - you don't *need* to change anything there. I think the default settings are perfectly adequate. You actually *can* customize quite a bit there, and therefore the GUI editor tends to be a bit complicated, but really, it's difficult to put that all on into the same GUI.
