Oh, not him again! He's always doing that.

That post man is a right so and so, he doesn't own an Amiga, but he still reads our magazine! Honest the number of times we have had complaints about him. Don't worry, he's just reading it over night, I am sure he'll let you have it back tomorrow when he has finished reading it

The interviews are my favourite part btw. :)

That was an area we were lacking, but I interviewed Bill (DiscreetFX) then Magnus Johnson stepped into the fold and showed us how it should be done

We are aiming to have an interview in every issue if we can.... poor Magnus

The big cost element in sending to US is the postage, unfortunately we cannot at present do anything about that. We were in talks with people in the US to do the printing and distribution but it came to nothing.... we did try!

How about you look into making the latest copy a downloadable pdf and charge for it? That will make it cheaper for people overseas. Not a perfect solution though but worth giving some thought?

We have considered that, the main problem is that as a non-profit organisation it doesn't really make sense to charge for a PDF as our costs would be very low.

I have written a more detailed explaination of this which I will post in the FAQ section of our web site this evening.

BTW, If anyone knows of someone in the US or Canada who might be interested in printing and distributing Total Amiga locally then please let me know.

Thanks for the suggestion,

Robert

Now I have to re-subscribe as this was my last issue..

How many subscribers do you have and are there any plans for a bi-monthly colour version ?

We printed 600 copies of issue 21, that covers subscribers, dealers and a some left over for sales over the next few months.

Currently we're pushed to produce the mag quarterly. To publish more often we would need to find some more regular contributors. There's also the fact that at the moment there is only a limited amount of news to report and products to review.

We'd like to include more colour but we're limited by the cost. Colour pages cost much more than black and white, especially in small print runs. This is another reason we are keen to keep the number of printed copies we sell as high as possible (rather than offering an alternative PDF version).

Thanks

Robert

It is a good issue (especially the stunning MOS/Ambient article and the superb Digital Expertise part II tutorial!!!!).

The interviews are always nice to read for a bit of insight into the brains of a developer.

Anyone any feedback on anything?

I'd personally and publically like to thank both Magnus Johnson and Mick Sutton for reading my Digital article and correcting me on some VERY stupid mistakes that I had made. My excuse was that I was trying to describe something in two different ways and confusing myself in the process!!! So my thanks to them because otherwise I could have looked very red-faced!! (I do know what Im talking about honest! honest guv!).

See you at the Big Bash 3!

Sam

Hmm, and I wonder who wrote those articles

Yes I agree, thanks to our intrepid interviewer Magnus

Thats all part of the job dude, trouble is when you write something and it's wrong, sometimes you can't see the wood for the trees! I've had lots of my work "corrected" of silly mistakes in the past..... and no doubt the future

Strange! Works here (and, yes I am a bete tester but I believe it is in the update 3). Did you have USB running and have a massstorage device plugged in?

We (Rob and myself) are also beta testers As far as I'm aware it is included in update 3

You must have friends in the post office. I got my copy today (Aug. 2) in Chicago. That's faster than some mail moves in the city.
