@Helgis

Sound terrific! I´ll have to install the DVD-ROM my brother gave me so I can watch DVD´s on my Amiga. I´ll buy DVPlayer on tuesday (I get money then). I hope many others do the same as development for AmigaOS 4.0 should be greatly encouraged.

How do i register for the full-version of DVPlayer if i don't have any VISA or MasterCard Credit Card? How am i suppose to get the full-version? I really want the full-version, and i hope there could be a way for me to pay for the product. Maybe some kind of an International Money Cheque or something like that?

So Hyperion, can we please see a small update to the Radeon drivers with

Yes, overlay with radeon is the second most important feature for me that is still missing in OS4. (The most important being escaping of characters like "[" and "]" in filenames.) DVI would be nice to, but overlay is really needed to resize hires video.

It's cool to have a new video player developed, I hope it gets a lot of support from the users

@poweramiga2002

Report this to Chip, he's doing the avcodec.library if I remember correctly.
Then maybe he can add support for it?!?

All registered & received

Everything non-encrypted is working great. It seems a little slower than MPLayer at the moment, but this is the first release & it's nice to have an OS4 specific app to do the job. Looking forward to the IBrowse Plugin

Keep up the excellent work!!!

fuzion:

you gotta be kidding me?

DvPlayer runs circles around mplayer here in terms of speed.

DVD's it play perfect while mplayer stutters or play slow.

More AVI formats is supported in DvPlayer than in mplayer (like indeo formats (which lightwave loves to use etc))

No seriously,

I have non-encrypted DVD here. (Maxim Magazine - A Decade of Greatest Goals, if you're interested), the video must be around 800*600 ish in resolution.

DVPlayer plays it around 70%-80% of it's original speed (The audio is 'jittery' where it's trying to play at the correct speed but has to stop to get back in time (This happend loads of times a second so you can't exactly HEAR the pause... It's the audio equivalent of a scanline image, you know it's there), I can't explain it better than that), it's a rock solid speed, but it's slower than it's meant to be.

MPlayer (Playing the disc AS a DVD) keeps the audio correct but the video plays, jumps, plays, jumps, plays, jumps etc...

MPlayer (Playing the non-encrypted file direct from the disc) plays the vob file at near perfect speed. I get the impression it's not QUITE 25fps, but it's REALLY close.

All smaller movie files (Lower resolution) play exactly right, it's just the very high resolution ones.

FuZion.
