Nice!
I had access to the forum but I didn't frequent it very much, because the topics didn't appear on the recent topics list. I guess this will change now.

Alex.

@ Rob

If Troika were to chose to have Eyetech act as their distributer, the Amy 05 could presumably be sold as an AmigaOne. I would think this would be the simplest solution....

>Well hey, the eyetech A1 is a dead platform anyway, so no reason not to open it.

I know I'm not always on top of all of the annoucements in the Amiga community, so I may have may missed this important peice of information, but I'm curious to know what you mean by "A1 is a dead platform anyway". Have EyeTech made any announcements regarding the AmigaOne boards that I should know about?

Simply curious...Thanks!

Hi Emmanual :) (Darren here)...anyway, no such announcement of the "death" of the amigaone has been made. People are just "assuming" that because there hasn't been any shipments for awhile.

By the way, did you get your MicroA1 working ? Mine is still working (knock on wood)! :)

PS - I have an A4000T now, too :)

> So now You are saying that the Amy'05 does not get a "AmigaOS4-license".

(OS4-license? I thought there was only an "AmigaONE" license?)
Who cares about the freaking license??? I'm glad to see it go.
Look, if the license would mean that new hardware wouldn't be possible, BURN the license.

Have any of you benefitted from the license?

How about I make a replacement?

T_Bone's PowerAmiga LICENSE (tm)
This freely transferrable license is applicable to any PPC hardware that Hyperion has made OS4 run on. You may not use this hardware to harm animals or the license is null.

Amendment #1, Sacrificing chickens to the SCSI God for troubleshooting devices is allowed and does not affect license "animal" clause.

Too bad.

I used to feel so special having access to an exclusive forum---like I was a member of a truly elite group of individuals.

But now...I am, once again, a mere mortal.

So anyway:

Welcome to all you new-comers; I hope you are not too disappointed by the total lack of any cool secrets contained therein.

@hnl_dk

Eyetech owns the "AmigaOne" label.

Amiga Inc owns the "Amiga" label.

Thus Troika wouldn't just have to negotiate a deal with AI for the use of the AmigaOne label, they would also need a deal with Eyetech.

Labelling it as an Amiga only requires a deal with AI, labelling it as Amy'05 doesn't seem to infringe on any trademarks at all.

I thought it was fun to watch all the new users who struggled to get access because they thought they were going to get Vendor help and information.

I'm sort of disappointed in a way. I was expecting to read up on secret handshakes, sacrifice techniques and other dark arts...

Fraid that all went out of the window the moment someone thought they would act for the "Greater good" of the community and leak what was in there.

Not that there was anything of any national (or international) importance.

I hadn't even looked in there for probably at least a year.

That's in the Double Secret Probation registered forum, that's still private.

Hi Darren,

Yeah, I finally got my MicroA1 working with the case and PSU I bought for it. For some reason, if I unplugged or cut power to the case's external PSU, then I would have to use the motherboard's reset CMOS settings through the associated jumper, power on and off, then flip the jumper and power on again before I could get the system to boot back up again. In any case, I ran a lead from the jumper to a small two way flip switch that I mounted through a small drilled out hole at the back of the case.

BTW: Do you have any issues with cracks and pops on the left speaker? I tried different speakers, but I'm starting to suspect it may in fact be something to do with power that the PSU provides or some other interference. Happens even when I'm in the boot menu.

In any case, I'm having lots of fun with this machine, in fact, so much fun, I'm afraid that I've been neglecting my CBM A4000T lately!

BTW: Loved the job you guys did with the Remote Desktop Client!
