| I am eagerly waiting to see some first pictures then.
Once we have filed for protection (copyright/patent, etc...) of the new design, we will then release pictures, animations and so forth to the Amiga community to view.
Please understand that this project (like many Amiga projects) is an all volunteer effort and it is taking longer than what we originally anticipated for several reasons. The new design change is a welcome change due to some of the design constraints in Marko's work. You have to remember; we're designing a case to wrap around a standard motherboard instead of designing a motherboard to easily fit inside a custom case. What we don't want to do is build some big, bulky looking case that is unappealing, so we're trying to use every bit of space as possible and make the case as appealing as possible. Hombre has done a wonderful job with the new design, so please bear with us and hopefully we'll get this thing done once and for all. Last edited by AmigaMac on 11-Dec-2005 at 01:37 PM.

Is this really a necessary step, somehow i don't think you have thought that one through. There isn´t much to protect here, and i doubt you have come up with some solution that requires a patent, so we are basically talking about some design pattern protection that in the end is really useless and only will cost you a lot of money.
Could you perhaps elaborate on your ideas here ? _________________ AMiGA

Well our first approach would be a poorman's patent/copyright and then we'll look into the official channels and if it's deemed to be too costly, then we'll opt not to take it any further. Hombre does want to protect his work and I respect that. The difference between what Hombre has created and what Marko Hirv created is the major difference in design concept and the fact that Marko's work was already made public long ago. Hmmm,. seems someone got out of the wrong side of the bed this morning.... sorry if my thoughts offended you, I was under the impression I was allowed to have an opinion,... my mistake apparently..... not like I completely bagged out the ppl involved, just stating that if things so far have been any indication this is possibly the most aptly titled project ever,... would like to be proved wrong though, as I said before it'd be a shame for someone else to do it 1st who's outside of the amiga community. |

Thanks very much for the effort and for making this announcement...
Information about progress on any Amiga front has been scarce lately and might explain some of the frustration.
You have absolutely no reason to apologize for this tremendous effort you and the team are making. I'm guessing most of us just sit around reading about the goings on in the Amiga scene and doing little. You and your team are actually doing something and seem to be making progress.
Thanks Guys! _________________

I'm 100% behind what BobC said. Just know that there are many of us here that appreciate your effort very much even if things don't always go the way you want them to. _________________ You can crack anything with your head, even the head itself. -------------------------------- ...proud AOS user since 1993 --------------------------------

your project for the look will fall under a "design patent". If you wish to start protecting your work. Write everything up and send to the US patent office (very cheap fee). Not sure of the name of the program, but it puts your ideas on file for a year under a number while you work on the project. Its simple and cheap protection, if thats what you wish? _________________ "The system no longer works " -- Young Anakin Skywalker

We have the protection of the case design under control, I am an Intellectual Property Attorney and we will most likely seek Design registration in key jurisdictions. |

Why all the hostility guys? It's not like anyone pre-paid or anything. Maybe it will come to life or maybe not, but at least they are attempting to do something. |
Some people are bitter about previous promises that failed to materialize. AmiJoe, BoXeR, Phase 5's G3/G4 classic accelerator, disappointment with what was promised compared to what was released for iFusion, stuff like that. Now they just don't want to believe anything lest they feel that same disappointment yet again. Not everyone is an optimist. _________________ All glory to the Hypnotoad!
