| hmmm... it would be cool if you could put out the examples or some of them as .exe files for download, that way we can see what we can produce with hollywood without you needing to release a demo version of the actual program, no? _________________ AOS4 Betatester, Peg2, G4@1ghz, Radeon 9250 256mb, 1gb RAM.

Ah, ok. I saw the remark in the announcment. . . New GUI: The GUI has been completely rewritten and is much more functional now... and was not sure if that meant Desinger.
Thanks for clearing that up. |

| I have ordered the update but must admit that without a windows player my use of Hollywood beyond experimenting is so far nil. Amiga users are too few to target with presentations I do. All the locals have PCs or Macs even if they are amigans. I therefore use html and powerpoint.
When I tried to use HW 1.9 on OS4 I found nearly all the transitions unsatisfactory, either being too fast or jerky if I slowed them down - that is they did not match the platform. I'm hoping from inferences in the update notes that that issue is resolved.

| I'm wondering if it would be possible to have a version of WinUAE/E-UAE boot straight into a Hollywood presentation via a custom bootloader (ie in the same way that .adf games do)? _________________ Happiness is mandatory. MindSpace: MindMaps and UML diagrams for OS4

That might be possible, but I'm honestly never up on AROS status, aside from the 'official' pages seem to have only year old drops...which is likely misleading as to actual status etc. It would need to run on a Hell laptop, and I suppose a LiveCD or minimal install might be a good starting point for this, better yet if AROS ran on top of 'my normal distro,' but I'm not sure that's the case.
Either way, that might be a good starting point to allowing people towards really _using_ Hollywood in 'real life' aka work. _________________ Are we not done with the same silly arguments and flames yet??!

As far as I can see, the official AROS site contains the most up to date news on the AROS status. There is also the aros-exec.org site which hosts a vivid community of AROS users and developers, from which you can get info about AROS. Then, you can try out AROS all by yourself, you know

AROS runs on any modern linux distro, or as a live CD, or installed inside an FFS or an SFS partition.

Call it starting point, if you wish, but allow me to say that it would actually be the best way to run holliwood, given the favourable cost/benefits ratio.Last edited by falemagn on 08-Jan-2006 at 11:18 PM. Last edited by falemagn on 08-Jan-2006 at 11:17 PM.
