What I do not understand is that if the games are written for AmigaAnyWhere and AAW run on pocketpc, windows mobile and symbian (and supposly others), and supposly the games are "write once run anywhere"; why not are all the games avaliable for all the supported platforms????? That is certainly beyond me

There are certain game that if it were avaliable for symbian i would buy it

I wouldn't worry about that, more about the delivery-date

@Fransexy,

AAW coders should take care of scaling/rezising things from the start and I think it was not the case for most of them (in fact, all games that are available for PocketPC but not for Smartphone).

We, at Boing attitude :o), did that. That's why Word Me Up is available for Smartphone AND PocketPC. It is the same binaries for both. That said, scaling things are not the only things to deal with: you should take care for example of user input. The way you use a phone is not the same as the way you use a Pocket PC device.

It's quite shameless to take advantage of Amiga's
name like that, they should be ashamed of themselves.
Desperate to earn money it seems. Can't somebody just
buy the damn thing and put an end to it.

This news is a non-sense on AW.net.
It's all about marketing campaign.

Posting commercial ads as a news item is not very fair and shouldn't been allowed.

I even belive that sort of marketing is illegal in many EU countries. Atleast in Denmark it is illegal to have competitions where you have to buy the product to enter the competition.

But the bike seems cool though... Would have bought some games if AA was available for OS4!

@balis

So what you're saying is, aw.net should not allow any news item which details a product which can be bought?

I am tempted to bring this issue to the staff forum and ban all commercial product details from entering news items.

Although how more than half of us would ever get to know what product is "being released" on to the Amiga "market" is beyond me.

Well, if you read the terms it says:

Quote:
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY.

There is an alternative to the purchase entry, so no harm done i think...

From what i heard, you do not need to buy the product.. But finding the fine print that says that might be a bit tricky

But, besides the name, what has a AAW product got to do with Amiga? No engine exists for AmigaOS after all. In fact a casino game running through a multimedia delivery environment running on top of Windows CE on a pocket pc device is about as much a Amiga-related news item as the death of Milosevic.

That's a debate which has been raging for many years here and elsewhere.

There is no need to get into it again. Although, my reference in that post was not so much about this product, or any other AAW product per se, but of all Amiga commercial products.

No, don't!

I fall into that category. It would also hurt the developers.

This site is like an alley between two apartment buildings with dozens of clothes lines crossing where one can display his wares.

Don't cut those lines.
