Er, again, no-one said that Adam isn't working on the PowerVixxen or he's lying about the whole affair, what we're saying is that working on something doesn't mean that it will hit the market in the end, especially in a market so small as this, where profits to be made are minimal.

And, also, I consider the head of Hyperion to be official enough, more so than their website.

Anyway, awesome news about both the Catweasel and the 030. I'm liking the idea of putting that 030 card in my A600!

The statement actually proves quite a bit. For a start why would Adam have ordered a quantity of connectors if his products were only vapour?

No, actually it proves only one thing: it proves that Adam placed an order for some connectors.

Ever heard of a company left holding spare parts after a project fails to come to market? I'm sure those companies fully expected to use the parts they ordered too. So I'll say again, it only proves one thing. Adam ordered some parts. The rest we will know if and when we ever see a working product.

Until then, it is all speculation as nobody has ever seen a working demonstration of anything. That doesn't mean Adam is not working on something, it just means that this statement only means one simple thing, and proves nothing. The only thing that would prove something is a working live demo.

Actually a few people have been saying that. It wasn't you or anyone that has posted comments on this news article. I think that those claims were made more on other online forums.

Anyway, enough discussion about A1200 connectors and ACK. This news post is mainly about new hardware for classic machines. Owners of classic machines should be happy about this development.

How did you do that? It is not clear where can one order the accelerators from. I tried e-mailing them but so far no reply...

"Even with the mass-production already completed, the delivery cannot start before august of this year. The main cause for this is of course our vacation until july 26th,"

Would like to order the Catweasel Mk 2, but couldn't see when that will be available, or what the price will be.

Wonder if it will be distributed via dealers such as AmigaKit ?

@Herewegoagain,

Adam would not have placed an order for connectors if his products were only vapour would he? Since this is a large order (ok so we dont know how large exactly) then he clearly has ordered them for a purpose. How about instead of speculating whether Adam is or isn't working on the PV board etc we speculate about what he has ordered them for.

Ahem.... I feel like I'm talking to Helgis. As I pointed out. Ordering something is no guarantee that it will ever see the light of day in a product for sale. It's an order and that's all. Like I said before, if it turned out to be an order for parts that never get built, it would not be the first time in history that such a thing has happened. Specualting that it means something is just that, speculation. It proves NOTHING, except that some parts are ordered for a planned project.

Well, it does prove ONE thing. There was (is?) a theory going around some amiga sites that the PV was a hoax all along, with the "proof" being that Adam got upset and said he was leaving, after some trolls accused him of lying about his father being in the hospital. The theory being, that if it wasn't a hoax then Adam would have just taken the abuse and kept going for the sake of the project. The problem with this theory is that Adam doesn't need to make PVs, he's doing it for emotional reasons (the love of the amiga) and in that context he's perfectly entitled to can the project, regardless of how far it was along, also for emotional reasons (the burning desire to rip the trolls a new one).

I have 100% trust in Jens, so if he says that Adam ordered connectors, then Adam did order the connectors. That should, I hope, be proof enough that the PV is not a hoax. I agree that it doesn't guarantee anything wrt a shipping product, and from the repeated missed deadlines I suspect that Adam is learning a lot of business lessons the hard way, but at least I am convinced that the project is in good faith. We don't have too many of those...

And then from 5th on to 26th Individual Computers is on holidays.

Okay, on that point I will say this: I never for one second doubted that Adam was working on the PowerVixxen. I never doubted that he was working on the PV High end either... nor the CPU module, and I never claimed he wasn't. In that sense I see what Jeffshepard is saying to a point. It does lend credibility to the fact that Adam has not been pulling a hoax on the community. But I stand by my point that it doesn't prove that the PV exists or will ever ship. Only Adam can decide that, if and when he finishes the project and puts it into production.

It does prove that he is ording parts that could be used in the PV production, however.

Well yeah, I never implied that you were one of those guys (unless you are one of those guys whose email address is "." on a certain other site )

I do agree that all we know for certain is that Adam has plans to either produce some form of A1200 expansion, or else some weird modern art.

@Herewegoagain

WOW peace breaks out

Just to clarify my point. I was only saying that Adam would not have ordered the connectors if he did not intend to use them. I agree that this doesnt prove that the PV board will come to market because Adam could run into any number of problems that could cause him to cancel it but no one orders componants with the intention of doing nothing with them.

I'm curious, is the accelerator only 68030 because its technically harder to add something like a 68060 or a PPC to it? I realise the 68030 is much faster than the A600s internal offerings, but why can't we install a V8 into our lawn mower?
