1) I responded on an abuse report. I haven't read the rest of the thread. I'll take a look at magic's post and I'll see what I think of it.

2) I'm a moderator here, not you. You don't get to call our moderation policies. Atheist likes to try and do that, he gets banned for it. (yes, that is a warning)

Yes you "assume" right. But, One should never "assume" anything. "Ass-uming" makes an "ASS" out of ones own self.

That's the one?

The old saying wich magic's reffering to (and hillariosly enough got wrong) "Assume makes an ass of u and me" is a saying as old as the Roman Vias to exaggerate a little, being a grammar nazi isn't as bad as being a thread crapper.

So no deal.

Eric S:
He used a bad joke to call me an ass because I spelt "asume" wrong.

That's a whole lot worse than citing Troika official FAQ.

Both posts used smilies but apparently smilies only work for some
people.. Do I smell some discrimination from you towards me?

Nevertheless, this is OT.

Great work, it sure gives hope to other such projects waiting for hardware to arrive.

A sneak peak at another one of our "projects" under development.

Aah, there we have it - the 7448 UDTech board. Put me up for
one, please.

Troika:
One serious question.. What about the RoHS directive?
This must be asked, I mean. You use the old TS107 on
the Amy'05 and this UDTech is designed in China AFAIK..

Will you comply with the RoHS directive on all your projects?

That's the UD Tech board, isn't it? You are hoping to market it in Europe?

How much work will you have to put into it yourselves before it is suitable for sale to the Amiga market?

So what exactly's the use of this thing as there is no OS4 license and Amiga, Inc isn't talking to Troika about getting an OS4 license? Expensive Linux dongle?

Since Amiga Inc demands a complete business case, they have to make a business. Unfortunately, that means making products as well as making marketing and powerpoint-ware.

It has got to be that way, at least as far as I can see, from my rather limited viewpoint.

Using "voltage" instead of "potential", which leads to inventing new words like "amperage" instead of "current" (I, measured in A) or possible "charge" (amperehours, Ah or Coulomb, C). Sometimes I don't even know what people mean.

@TheDaddy

----------------------
◆ Graphic Daughter Card

GPU: XGI
Video: DVI-I/CRT
From 640x480 to 1024x768

Interface Card:
CVBS/S-VIDEO video In/Out
YPrPb Video out

Take a look at the XGI home page here:
http://www.xgitech.com/products/products_2.asp?P=2

It doesn't specify which chip will be used for the video, but if Amiga can get support from them that's great.

Edit... update:

Okay, looking at the specs on the UDT / Troika Panda and the XGI video daughter card, I would say that it has to use the Volari 3XE (embedded) or Volari 3XT (desktop) or higher. My reason for this is that only the V3XE or V3XT or higher support YPbPr and HDTV outputs formats.

That's not fair!

Pictures of two OS4 hardware solutions.

Can't you lend one to ACK?

Troika has to comply, if they don't no market in the EU at all.

@Troika

This Panda board is it ready and redesigned for Amiga market by Troika or do you just take it over as developed by UDTech?
If the latter case is true why not just begin selling it? UDTech would be more than happy, wouldn?t they?

@Troika

Thank you for the serial port! Putting it on a header will work just fine, because one can easily buy a DB9 socket plus cable to put on a case slot. Just make sure the pinout you use is the standard one!

I agree, with mbilla, if you're not going to do anything to the UD Tech board besides maybe flashing the BIOS, why not start selling them now? If nothing else, you'll be helping your bottom line for when you meet with Amiga Inc

Looking at the board layout, it will have to use a custom case in it's current configuration. If they redesign in a different layout, then that will take longer, but won't need a custom case. I think a custom Amiga branded case would be nicer.

I like the "inobvious" covering of certain areas.. :)
