It was stated on some other site that they are currently in negotiations with amiga inc regarding the license. So my guess is that they do not know yet.

Even if the hardware was ready tommorow, dont Hyperion want to spend the next few months finishing off their advanced functionality that didnt make it into Update4?

This is a hell of an interesting piece of hardware. I'm tempted to get one just for running some kind of Unix derivative, and I wouldn't the least mind the option to give OS4 a try. Not in any way being connected to that fishy BBRV affair is also an enormous plus. Two thumbs up for this effort!

I like that board. Little and cute. About what we have in my day job - but x86 (and not that geeky and I like the possibility to customize it). A pitty it's about 1 or 2 years too late. We could have switched to something like it for our platform. But, hey, maybe I buy one and check how it would perform.

I definitvely like the fpga thingy. And with the geek port on the troika this opens new possibilities for the Amiga "coderrzzz". Who writes the first mp3/mpg/divx en/decoder in HW ? Cool. How fast is the xilinx on mem access ? Could one implement a VMX in fpga ? Does it have mem access to both, DDR and VRAM ?

And one more thing. Are there CD ROMs with SATA out now ? Will always be possible to hook up a USB Burner/Drive, I'd guess.

But cool. Bring it on. Need more space in my office again..:)

There aren't many A1s out there running at 600Mhz.

My A1SE has been reliably running at 733 for nearly 4 years now. The Micros are faster still.

Just a thought: Would it be possible to use the fpga to emulate the custom chips in the classic Amigas, like the minimig does?

OS4 BETTER run on it after they use an Amiga event to hype it - I don't go there and hype the album i'm working on as it's not related to Amiga, so why should someone else do it AGAIN?

Only the SE run at 600 MHz. And there weren't many of those.

The XE are all running at 800 MHz or faster.

Hmmm... thinking about it, if these things were available for £100 or less, including OS4 final with OpenGL, i might even be able to talk my bosses into using it.

So i'll be keeping my eye on this one for sure... i always wanted to work with OS4 for a living :)

Hyperion is not a fan of OSS. But Samantha seems to be a point where it unites BSD/Linux/Amiga (and possibly Solaris or other operating systems), it also seems that everyone is very pleased with it. I always believed that in order Amigans to overcome their HW situation, they should cooperate with other communities. It is happening RIGHT NOW

Buy it with Linux run Linux/BSD/amiga.

Could you please pm me with the proper jumper settings for 733mhz? I've got mine clocked at 666, and didn't want to go beyond as I wasn't sure what the correct voltage setting should be.
Also, did you have to install a larger cooling system? Mine came with a small fan glued to the top of the cpu.

Well, i was talking in the future (when OS4 final an OpenGL are out, and if they run on the Sam), the price might have come down by then. Plus the company would buy them in bulk (although realistically, probably not big enough batches to be as cheap as the FPGA based board we use at the moment; but that board is purely 2D).
