Internet News   Internet News : On-Line Petition - Will you help?
   posted by Mikey_C on 30-Apr-2007 21:13:19 (6753 reads)
Fans of the Amiga platform

I have created an online petition in the hope that it may make Amiga Inc and Hyperion Entertainment see sense and work together rather than fight each other.

The Petition reads:
"We, the undersigned ask that Amiga inc and Hyperion Entertainment to put aside their differences and work together to ensure the success of the Amiga platform for the benefit of all fans of the Amiga operating system"

-----------
url is http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/amiga/index.html

Please help, the larger the voice, the more chance we have of making them see sense. Tell your friends etc.

Amiga, Inc are a "company" (an excuse for) that lives off lawsuits, it seems.

Everything they do, seems to go against keeping the Amiga platform alive and keeping hold of the 'few' users left.

I for one, have no idea what goes on behind closed doors, but their website has been proof of the shambles for a long long time. An excuse, holding onto a famous brand name, to try and salvage some money any way they can.

Jesus, see the logic.

As I said, and Dave Haynie added...computing sums up society these days.

I signed the petition anyway.

[will edit one more moan into this comment] - Hyperion manage to release OS4 (even if it was late) and Amiga, Inc (now it is in an advantageous position to do so) come along with a lawsuit, basically to take AmigaOS from Hyperion. That's nice. One more thing that has been done for them, that they didn't have to pay for.

For me, this is quite the nail in the coffin.

Steve

We could also send a petition to the Jews and the Palestinians, or for that matter we could solve all the problems of the world with a petition. Are we so naive as a community?

Okay,

Someone give me an effective idea, that is do-able and will make Amiga and Hyperion listen to us, the user

I am happy to concede to anyone who has a brilliant idea that will actually work.

How do you save someone who doesn't want to be saved? Though one...

So the splitter wants to unite us now? No thanks I'll pass. Anyone else want to try and I'll support you.

I don't want your help, the Amiga community wants your help. Fine so you don't like me, that's okay, I won't be losing any sleep over it.

Don't vote, fine, cut off your nose to spite your face.

Ridiculous

It's a nice generic petition, but I don't think I'll sign unless it says we want Amiga Inc. to either leave Hyperion's custom OS4 alone, or give Hyperion the promised OS 3.x code for the originally planned more simplistic conversion.

Everyone seems to forget that. I wonder if the situation was reversed and hyperion was going after Amiga Inc, would this petition exist?.

You had a chance to be a uniter but choose not to. What is ridiculous is that you come back here as if you did nothing. I would rather listen to BB than you. Go back to where you can edit your opposition into obscurity.
