The thing is that with AmigaOS's design such protections have no known safe way to do cleanup after that. What if bad task held an important lock (like on DosList). Or it was in Forbid() state. Or the access violation only by accident happened in this task (app task using iorequest on overflown stack and some device task accesses it and causes detection of overflow). Or it's not even in any task at all but in an interrupt (timerequest again on stack and replied/handled in interrupt by timer.device).

Congratulations to all AmigaOS 4 developers on releasing this
update. Which version is this? 4.01? 4.1?

I thought 4.0 was finished, and all upcoming updates
would be 4.x.x?

At least that's the information we got the days after

Think of it as a Windows Update kind of thing. The build number changed, but it's still release 4.0

I dont know why people are so picky. If the July wouldnt come then we would have to wait even more to a 4.1 release. Do you think 4.1 will be finished any time soon ? 4.1 will have more features which probably even arent started on. Im no betatester so i dont know. But i rather have 10 updates on os4.0 then wait for 4.1 ;) Dont take everything so "bokstavligt" (wordly)

I also said to my friend i will be finishes with my tune and make 2 new ones befores i go to summer vacation. Did i do it ? Nooo, not even the first is finished and im traveling next saturday so not even the first will be finished. Damnit one year and no tune ;( Shame on you kicko !!!!

Im sorry Ironfist. But we are so enjoy of the new update. And always someone why is this...... If you remember it was said something like there will probably be some sort of updates like boingbags on os3.x or something like that after final os4 was released. I hope you not taking this as a bad thing against you personally. Just enjoy that we have a update with bugfixes. If we didnt get this i wouldnt run amigift now ;)

Questioning is good, but some questions aren't.

It's a silly question especially when you know (should anyway) the answer.
Rogue has stated several times that OS4 will be updated until the final CD
is pressed and released with new hardware. Even you couldn't have missed
that?

nor makes statements for Hyperion.

Updates are always a good thing. But "official" state-
ments about upcoming updates from non-Hyperion
employees, is nothing I would take as a real statement.
