Can you say which platforms it continues apace on

While I'm not particularly an Elbox fan, that was really nice:
- Look, new mediator!
(minutes later)
- Look, new OS4 Classic update, working with new mediator.

Of course, I'd love to see the same for 'look, new modern hardware ', but well done, hopefully this resolves some of the niggles for the OS4 Classic owners.

I look forward to an A1 update in the future.

Try thanking the developers, they are the ones making it happen despite Hyperions difficulties of paying for it.

I would also be thanking for this if it wasn't for my inability to enjoy AmigaOS4 classic on my PPC equipped Amiga. Both the HD and CD are SCSI and I don't feel like "downgrading" to IDE.

@Rogue

Any info on when you'll add support for SCSI?

Too bad most of us cannot get hold of any hardware to run this OS. But i am happy for the OS4 users and nice to see that hyperion is still bothering to update it even though there is no way it will sell enough considering there is no hardware.

@samface

The noble thing would be to offer SCSI equipped PPC on loan to the developer that did the SCSI for Cyberstorm.

Of course that requires a lot of trust and I wouldn't blame you for not wanting to part with such precious hardware for even a month or two.

If Elbox are to believed then they are already in the process of designing a new PPC accelerator card for mediator. I think with the latest cooperation with Hyperion, new busboard announcement, and OS4 compliant FastATA drivers etc, a new accelerator card is becoming more and more likely!

SCSI is supported already for the CyberStormPPC onboard SCSI controller and a few PCI plugin cards. We're not going to support the BlizzardPPC in the foreseeable future, no one is willing to do the driver.

If you want to you can now insert another rumor here as to why this is the case, I am sure certain other individuals can be quite creative about that.

hello,

thanks for the AmigaOS4 update and for the new mediator design.

Great to have an announcement for both the same day that men hyperion and elbox talk together, IMHO.

Have an old mediator here and no PPC board ufortunately but I follow with interest news about AOS4 and/or new hardware.

bye and thanks for all and for rogue to be here for help.

But the rumor has to include the word "aliens", the colour magenta, the number 3 and must mention at least two of the five human senses.

Hans

P.S. Nice to see an update. I'm waiting patiently (or not so patiently) for an update to the Amigaone version.

That is very disheartening news for me and one less customer for you.

There will always be the usual suspects of rumour mongerers, no surprise there. The abscense of facts is not very uncommon to have that effect. I, however, am not one of those rumour mongerers. On the contrary, alot of people have gotten to know me by what have been referred to as stubborn "nit-picking" on things when I point out the lack of facts in people's attacks on certain companies and individuals.

Although, I can't help but thinking this would have been a great opportunity to fill the abscense of facts with what according to you is the real reason. Atleast in my view a statement from someone with the credibility such as yours would go along way to prevent alot of the rumours.

@Rob

Are you saying the reason is a lack of access to a PPC + SCSI equipped Amiga 1200? If so, how do you know this?

@samface

They support a few SCSI PCI plugin cards, maybe they work on your A1200.

The lsi53x8xx.device.kmod maybe.

@Rogue

Is there enough information available for an external developer to write the required driver. Not me though as I am only able to do a few lines of C from a book at the moment.

That was the impression I was under, but it doesn't matter in the context of Rogue's post anyway.

I know that hatschi is in the same boat as you maybe if you can find enough people they might be willing to change their position.

Also if there were someone were willing to do it for a small bounty, say a couple of hundred dollars, I would pay in just to helpp you guys out.

Just trying to explore the possibilities for a solution here.

I think the first we will hear now will be a carefully timed press release like the latest one.
