hardware OS4   hardware OS4 : Free Heroes 2 ported to AmigaOS 4.x
posted by spotUP on 5-Feb-2009 21:08:17 (6589 reads)
1.5 years later... the struggle is over...

Porting for Profit presents...

Free Heroes 2 - a Heroes of Might and Magic 2 remake.

In the process I fixed SDL_Mixer to support MIDI playback.
If you want music support in the game it's very important
that you download and install the fixed GUS Soundfont. It comes with a simple installer, I suggest you use it.

The game requires the original Heroes of Might and Magic II game data.

The game is in pre-alpha state so many features are missing still, but it's getting more playable every day.
I will keep maintaining the AmigaOS 4.x version, so stay tuned for future updates, and most of all, HAVE FUN!

It seems a nice port even for an alpha version. Where is the download?

I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

i agree heros 3 is where this game start to shine, heros 3 is still the best game in the series and are still pop on the pc. but i guess we will have to wait for it to reach the amiga, i started playing heros 3 and tryed both the 4 and 5 nothing beats hero 3 its a fantastic game, they got most of the things rigth in that one. heros 2 is a step back and not that fun, if you have played heros 3.

Good question. Although I find the simple game. Do we need the CD version of it or not?
