@Jumpshi* [no need for the language Hooligan]

I know very little about law (especially US law) but I have this feeling it's a sort of habit or requirement to sell them under the name of Amiga Inc. because they are crediting from them. I might be very wrong... just how I remember a situation 5-6 years back concerning our company.
Anyone have an answer for this?

Hi all, been a while since I posted.

all I can say is

*laughing too hard to say anything*

uhmm, ahem, sorry....look, who they list the site under is not proof of anything, either way.
That's because while they would provide public notice of a foreclosure sale under Amiga, Inc.s name....public notice could be from a newspaper ad that is buried in the back of a seattle newspaper somewhere, and thats where they got the compliance.

*goes back to laughing*

but....c'mon people. just c'mon. grasping at straws are we?

I'm not the person to reach this crowd.

see ya!

As Slimjim said in his usual calm and well thought out posts, don't blame the FUD and trolls. These rumours exist because AmigaInc let them exist, or rather because they can't do anything to stop them. They are very weak: no money, no deals, no product, bad PR,... need i go on? I mean, what can they do in such situation?

Or maybe it is a catch 22 situation. If the company refute the rumours, all your trools will just comeback with their usual, "Ahh, what you are saying is just BS...", and if the company do nothing about them, the trolls carry on in much the same way as they are at present. So what is the point in doing anything. It's far simpler to just get on with whatever they are doing and to let things speak for themselves when they happen.

maybe there is a cache-22 situation here Steve...

How would someone form a valid criticism of Amiga, Inc., that wouldn't be labeled as trolling?

Will you accept any form of criticism of Amiga, Inc., from any source, worded in any manner?

Do you think you think coupon holders are getting $50 back....cause I'll tell you, I don't think they will.

Agreed...but they don't happen, do they or have i missed something?

Anyway, we've had no news from AmigaInc since they existed so this thread is no news either.

The real reason i'm here is OS4 and i'm still really positive about that project.

Even if they were to sell it as seized Amiga equipment, they would not use a copyrighted Amiga logo. And I believe it would just be marked "seized" as some of the other items there. You cannot use another companies logo to sell products you own!

Criticism is one thing, but all out abuse thereof is quite another. In a majority of the postings you see these days, the criticism is hidden behind a wall of abuse (and that is not just limited to the Anti AI mob - but to "supporters" of all available solutions/products).

This was an honest typo if it did occure heh ... maybe too much #### has happened lately and things starts to happen by nature.. like typing.

Im glad you understood the mistake.

You maybe right. It seems a bit funny, I admit.
But US law.. anything can happen. There was a case similar to this, but it had international laws blah bah blah and it was so many years ago.

No problem! I thought is was inocent I rarley "jump" (sorry no pun intended!) on people because I know how easy it is to press the wrong key, or write the wrong word when you are rushing, or in a funny mood.

Glad it is cleared up tho

...? Not the most vocal comment

Perhaps my phrasing was a little unclear. All I meant to imply was that both current "camps" of supporters are equally vocal at times on the others doings (or not) as the case may be, and it's about time it all just stopped. It is after all said and done becomming very tiresome and irritating. The whole mudslinging and trolling tirade is/has made other former "Amiga" newsites a wholly less enjoyable experience to read, containing less and less News, and more rumour and self imposed "opinion".

There is rarely a day goes by that you don't see BBRV this or AI that. And the sad (and constant) renaming of this site at times just shows the level of mentality these people possess.

@Steve
I responded with "..." as this IS Amiga-oriented side and I felt your comment being a bit anti-MOS/off topic in that case .. well, anyway.. hard to explain. You know.. one sided.
"..." meant "ok .. whatever" .. I quess

And isn't it good that there is a new topic to discuss on amiga sites every day? Keeps the forums healthy.. wish there'd be more positive news coming, especially from Amiga Inc.
I am getting tired to see "Genesi attending show x / event x" while McEwen is sitting on his nuts playing Tetris on a gameboy.
Imagine a week without any news from either side... some people would DIE

While I am not saying what you pointed out is untrue, but how come on the site that is going to do the auction it lists Amiga INC as the company and not thier former landlord? Would it not make sense that if he/she/they (the landlord) were selling this stuff, it would be under thier name?

Yes, I admit things are not as clear as they should be. I don't know how the listings are done, really. If the company has been declared bankrupt, then the assets are transferred and auctioned, so they would be listed under the creditor's name, I assume. In the case of a company that is not bankrupt but that has assets seized for nonpayment of debts, perhaps since the assets still legally belong to the debtor, that is how they are listed.

Of course there could be some other explanation entirely, but again we are mostly left in the dark. I would have thought Amiga, Inc., in view of the many rumors surrounding the status of the company and its staff, would have anticipated the chaos an auction announcement would trigger, and would have been proactive about letting us know the circumstances of the auction.

1. The auction is not held by AInc, but
by their former landlord. That alone should
tell you something.

2.Even IF they had started that auction, it
would only proove that they are really
plain stupid !

Why ? Because everybody knows that their
finacial situation ain't perfect, and the
last thing a potential partner/investor
wants to see in a situation like that is a
public flea-market to raise a few thousand $
(at best). If any decent company wants to
get rid of old furniture, they either throw it
in the bin, or call a company specialized on
selling 2nd hand stuff. But they surely don't
want their name to appear in any connection
with it in public.

@Kronos

I doubt that a potential partner or investor would only rely on this. Wouldn't audited financial statements be of more interest?

@Bodie

Those aren't looking any better (for all we know).

But a possiblie partner/investor would surely have a look
at everything he can find, and such a auction does
put a VERY bad spot-light on AInc, regardlees wether
they are really selling old stuff to get some
space, or if they have an aggreement with their
former landlord.

It just LOOKS like a company in bancruptsy (or near to it).

@ Kronos

This regards old stuff which hasn't been used by Amiga employees for quite some time now.

We have already selected a question with regard to this topic for Week 11 of the weekly Q&A with Fleecy, so if you are really interested then stay tuned. I suggest everyone to keep an open mind about this until there is some more information, but anyway this is not marking the end of Amiga Inc in any way.
