Miscellaneous News   Miscellaneous News : Amiga, Inc. removes all references to AmigaOS from its website
   posted by Petah on 14-Nov-2009 17:52:44 (13747 reads)
In the aftermath of the acquisition of IP rights to the AmigaOS name and source code (as reported by AmigaWorld.net last month), US based Amiga, Inc. has removed all references to the operating system from its website.

Once the official hub for AmigaOS and its development, amiga.com now only promotes the Amiga Anywhere software platform rendering the AmigaOS homepage defunct.

That's good; the site seems to have a more professional design than it did last time I looked, but that was a long time ago!

@klx300r

I think they should stick to repackaging and selling games you can download for free (legally) from Cinemaware. Speaking of Cinemaware, Wings for Gameboy Advance was really quite good.

Good to have some non-Hyperion sourced confirmation that the settlement is real and in motion.

Why don't they just shut down the website?

I mean has anyone downloaded the great AA2 torrent to see what it is?? It's worthless.

There is so much stuff out there that is 1,000,000 times better.

Check out http://www.garagegames.com/ and see what AA or AA2 never even thought to dream to be.

You run your Torque apps on Windows, Mac, Iphone, XBox360, Wii, etc etc etc.

Rich well supported developer environments.

This is just one of many. Amiga Inc. is a scam company.

Interesting! Seems that Amiga Inc still plan to continue as a business (of some sort).

Ah, justice! Nothing is like justice when it happens right. Now Amiga Inc will have nothing more to do anything related to AmigaOS. They will focus on Amiga Anywhere yes, but nothing related to AmigaOS. Hyperion Entertainment own that part now, and rightfully so...

Excellent!

Finally they separate themselves from AmigaOS. As for what they'll do now, I couldn't care less...
