So now I thinkI have the prob reproducible on my maschine. Once a video is *finished* the player does not exit itself (closing the tab doesn'*t remove the task, only clsoing OWB). If you then enter a new search string a click on a result will open a new player instance. And then, there's no sound, since AHI is still locked by the not exited player.

@Fab

1 question + 1 request:

Q: How did you arrange your bookmarks window to be part of OWB main frame (as in the pic you posted)???

R: Would it be possible to (optionaly) change the main window close gadget function? I'd rather have it more like IBrowse ie it closes tabs and when it reaches the last tab it asks for program exit. That way, if many tabs are opened and you only want , say , the first three to remain, you can rapidly click on the close gadget until all unwanted tabs are closed. What do you think?

@ZyleSea

When you don't close a view, WebKit might consider (not always) the player is still alive (it does that to avoid reloading video just because you did some back/forward operation by mistake, for instance). Arguable behaviour, but that's how it works anyway. :)
If you close a view, the player is generally disposed, though (unless webkit decides otherwise).

When it happens, the audio output is still allocated, and since it's exclusive, the next stream won't be able to allocate audio hardware. Anyway, go to ahi prefs and select "unit0: " in music unit configuration, if you want to avoid that.

In next version, maybe i'll use ahi device units or reggae to avoid this situation (I mostly used music unit for latency and programming reasons).

Select menu->view->panels->favorites

Yea, i guess it would. Just need to make it optional. Alternatively, you can also use menu shortcuts, if you need quick response. :)

Yea, but from a user's POV it feels a bit odd that you actually can select a video from the already available suggestions regardless whether the current vid has finished yet or not and that you can - while the vid is still replaying - enter something to the search string and it works, too. But once the video is finished, the MediaPlayer does not get a signal to exit if you do a new search and, thus blocks AHI for the newly started MediaPlayer instance.

Can anyone else confirm my observation, btw.?

regardless of this little issue (that becomes a non-issue when you know how to handle it, i.e. close the tab before searching something new *if* the curent video has finished already) this is release absolutely awsome!

Nice work Fab. Looks really awesome. Alot of usefull stuff in the gui and flash. I wish i had that search field at the right for youtube and others on OS4 version of OWB. I used this alot when i used Ibrowse. I configed all searchengines i liked to use. Really fast way to search.

Keep up the good work.

@Kicko

In fact, i think you can do it on the OS4 port too, by configuring a search tooltype (i don't know if you can change search engine at runtime, though).
