this is only when the CPU is full loaded.but normaly when use a computer, most time the system is on idle but when do some actions it should go fast.and when ypour computer is faster, it can earlier go sleep.

I dont know what powerusage a PPC970 dual core have when it is on idle, but even on X86 a CPU with TDP of 130 Watt(most X86 have 65 or 95 Watt TDP), the CPU does on idle not need more than 10 Watt.

The system with core2 extreme need 94 Watt on idle and 195 Watt when CPU run full.
195-94 mean 101 Watt more.the core 2 extreme is a 130 Watt TDP CPU.

but when do nothing this CPU need only 29 Watt.even less.Because its known that Intel use not the full TDP

So the powerstation need on normal use much less power as 200 Watt i think and also a Playstation3 need on idle lots more power i think.

The PPC cpu being suggested has *much* better (more fine grained) power management than current Intel CPUs (AFAIK), so it should be able to be "partially active" (not just idle) while using less power than Intel.

It is quite easy to have low power usage when doing nothing. It is rather harder to have low power usage when parts of the CPU are being used occasionally. As I recall, Intel's CPU power management is also quite crude (only powering down after a long time of inactivity), so it wouldn't take much to keep parts of the Intel CPU powered.

However, this is just my vague recollection.

Here is a table for PPC970.the low voltage PPC 970 seem reach only 1,25 GHZ.so this the powerstation have not.

when use D.Nap and F/64 then it need 17 Watt for 2 Cores.the power station have 2*2 core CPU so need 34 Watt on idle.

But here stand the 2. core can complete switch off,then need 18 Watt

I think after 3 years of production, no one should use PA6T CPU/SoC samples any more.
