| I don't see the point in a PPC card for Natami. Natami appeals to those that have rejected the move to AOS4/Morph OS/PPC.
If Natami was to have an alternative processor to (N)68K I'd like it to be ARM based with AROS providing the OS. |

| You dont see but, someone see so that is option for future. Possibility is on board to add new processor card coldfire/PPC so we will se what will happend. Aros is alternative, lets see Aros on this configuration. _________________ F1 Srbija

Which PPC chip exactly would all those requesting it want? _________________ A3000D (16mhz, 2MB Chip, 4MB Fast, SCSI (300+MB), SuperGen Genlock, Kick 3.1) --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Back in my day, we didn't have water. It also appeals to those who have AOS4/Morph OS but they probably wouldn't be interested in a PPC card for it unless it happens to be more powerful than what they already have.
There are also those who'd like to run the next generation PPC OS's but feel that an Amiga computer should have the custom chip set.

G4 would be the most sensible option. Most parts are significantly cheaper than 68060 parts. I think a 1GHz + board with a good wedge of local RAM and OS4 or MorphOS could come in for around the same price as full 68060 card.
The problem is that you'd probably need at least 400 potential customers to make either an OS4 or MorphOS port worth the investing in.
Natami will be doing well if it manages to sell that many units but only a percentage of those customers would be interested in a PPC option. |

Not to mention that with so many people focusing on what they already perceive as a high cost, and numbers like 400 additional being mentioned for such an addition even on Natami site, you just compound the former issue.

| Will there be a possibility to get a PowerPC card to work on this that might support AOS 4.1? _________________

| Please no PPC-Card.
Use the time for developing a better 68K Core.
For me Natami is about going back to the place where Amiga systems did a branch into the wrong direction, and going into the right direction again.
PPC is as dead as 68K anyway on Desktop Systems anyway, so whats the use? |

PA Semi PPC processor is also discontinued. Should A-eon cancel X1000? PPC give opotunity of power for peripherials and software upgrades. _________________ F1 Srbija

| Seems there will be no PPC expansion now, but board has at least PCI slot. So its possible in the future (PPC PCI cards do exist).
I am intersted what is the form factor of the board? _________________ Future Acube and MOS supporter, fi di good, nothing fi di unprofessionals. Learn it harder way!

The Natami MX board complies with the Mini-ITX format, which is 170*170 mm. However, it is actually a bit smaller (170*140 mm), but can still be mounted in cases meant for Mini-ITX. And other, more Amiga-related cases :) |
