Well, at least it was not an announcement of a future announcement Perhaps some people should simply enjoy what they have. Features&fixes come in next updates and the updates are delivered when done, it's not that hard to understand I think.

How about first releasing an update and if all bugs (the most serious or whatever) are fixed and they are to go on to 4.2 then they release an ISO?

1. To demonstrate that progress is being made and AmigaOS 4.1 is not being abandoned.
2. To encourage more people to report bugs and problems via the official support forum.
3. Because I felt like it.

Nice fast development cycle. This is how it should be. I want to get os4 but should I wait for "4.2" so I dont have to buy it twice??? How long will it be for 4.2 estimated? Will X1000 be shipping with 4.2 or 4.1?

My last answer/post mean, that Ssolie have big-fat ego, which a bit suck. In every post lately , he point out that he = hyperion. Like he only one, and only alone do everything, make every decission, and do all the work. Its just sounds too much ego. That what i mean. While he do (looks like) more or less right things for hyperion, still, his manner of answers are too much ego.

Well now, my SYS: has always been clean and that did not stop an old version of kickstart from loading on bootup. Nor prevent a new SATA drive from booting. I am still trying to figure out what I did wrong. I don't blame the mess I (still) have on Update 3, I blame it on myself.

I've always done a fresh install and probably will continue to.

EDIT: corrected spelling error.

Yeah, i'm going to pay $300 for a hobby OS that makes a lot of sense good advice.

I understand that you do not want to spend funds for 4.1 only to find that 4.2 comes out shortly there after, but sooner or later if you want OS4 you are just going to have to bite the bullet and get it.

Of course knowing if 4.2 was shipped with the X1000 would sure help you in your decision making.

Oh come on, does he really strike you as such? I think he only sounds like someone who is speaking for Hyperion by their direction.

Kas1e is very passionate about os4 and amiga. I agree with you and him. Since Steve came along things have been MUCH improved with Hyperion. However, statements like "Because i feel like it " are somewhat arrogant especially for the community rep for the company..

I am happy to pay my hard earned $ on hobbies all the time, whether it be restoring old VWs, playing with old computers, you name it.

At some point you just need to bite the bullet as Moxee said, otherwise you never move forward and enjoy the new stuff.

I would think though most companies offer cheaper upgrade pricing if your purchase is within 90 days of your original purchase. That would be nice of them if they feel 4.2 is coming within next 90 days, to offer 4.1 at reduced price and if you want 4.2 later, and it comes up within 90 days, you get a special price or something.

But, in the end, if you are supporting your hobby and folks that are making cool stuff for it, it costs more for most of us in the end. Such is life.
