AmigaOS 4.1 Update 5 has now been released.

More details and a place for registered users to download the update can be found at Hyperion's main web site.

The following AmigaOS platforms are supported:

AmigaOne 500 (460ex)
Sam440ep and Sam440ep-flex (all variants)
AmigaOne XE
MicroA1-C
Pegasos II
CyberStorm PPC
Blizzard PPC

Besides the usual bug fixes, some highlights include:

Optimized DMA copy routines for 440ep and 460ex based platforms.
SM502 audio driver and Mixer for AmigaOne 500 systems (460ex).
Updated Radeon, R200 and Permedia2 Warp3D drivers. Per-application configuration is now possible to help work around bugs in old software. User documentation is provided on the wiki.
Catweasel driver for floppy disk, SID chip and joystick support.
MIDI support now included via the camd.library.
Professional photograph backgrounds provided by mediacube.
Improved Amiga 68K emulation. A full Workbench 3.1 installation is now included. Authentic Amiga ROMs and Workbench files are provided in the new Emulation drawer.
AmigaOS support is available via Hyperion's support forum.

A special thanks to the AmigaOS development and testing teams for their hard work on this release!

Finally!!!! Like OS X numbering, much better!

Nope. That is just vox's idea. The correct version is 4.1 Update 5.

Thank you for the update.

Very nice to see professional pictures content.

I've prepared some images for OS4 in the past: maybe would you like to put in the 4.2?

:)

Nooooo! Please consider this :)

Any news on DMA SATA2 for Sam460ex?
Any chance to implement an option to have "natural scrolling" like in OS X 10.7+?

Thanks for all the work on this update!

Ugh, really? It makes sense for a touchscreen, but what on earth do you need it for on anything else? Each to their own though I guess...

Good work guys, will install it when I have a chance! Thanks!

Upgrade completed. My system seems a bit sluggish right now, but it might be network related. I was having a few issues before I downloaded the update. I will see how it goes over the next few days. Fingers crossed.

@redfox

Sluggish in what way? I'm not seeing any issues on my micro, so you need to be more specific.

Can someone upload some screen shots with the new included backgrounds?

Investigate this issue as I have a feeling that my µ is snappier and besides uses less videomemory.

Because i'm used to it now, after a while i tried it with Lion i like this way more than traditional scrolling. It feels like touching the content like on a touch screen and it is the same gesture you do on a trackpad and on iPad. IT should be pretty simple. For example there are script for old the old PPC 10.5 to enable this just because if you get used to it it feels "strange" to use the classic scrolling, i use 99% my iMac, iPad or my work MacBookAir, when i use my Sam460ex i always ask if the scrolling is broken before realizing what the problem is
Anyway i repeat, just an option to turn it on.

So called 'natural scrolling' is the first thing I reverted back to default when I got Lion. It doesn't sit in the desktop space and is aimed at touch-screen devices.

Thank you for the update. I've installed it but not yet viewed new background pictures. I will do it this evening.

One question anyway : In Alchimie 111111 (French meeting last year) it was shown a version of the context menu with icons (like in Windows when acting on an icon). Do you now for which version it is planned (maybe AOS4.2) ?

Thanks.

Nic
