Yes you can "presume" that and because of that I do not think that there will be "Amiga" versions. I think he should not make false hopes (again) and wait with any kind of announcement till he knows that there will be one (definitely). |
I will buy a licence if it goes gold on morphos, even if I have absolutely no skill with this kind of stuff, maybe to offer it to a good friend after all;) That is an 'amiga' licence sold;)
Don't despair
-> windows market;: full of free good app, full of good pro apps -> linux market : I don't see a geek paying for that 4D software, and no use on a linux server -> mac maybe some licences, but there is already maybe apps there -> Amiga market: some licences to sell |

Personally I always wanted the first shipping version of Aladdin 4D 6.0 to be on Amiga OS 4.x or MorphOS. It's kind of out of my control though, the programmer has the skills to make it for Amiga OS 4.x and MorphOS, once he provides me some screen shots or a early beta then those versions will be back on. I hate promoting something I have not seen is real myself. I have the Mac OS X version and know how far along that is for sure. I have not been provided any other versions yet. I still have hopes for those versions.

| @DiscreetFX Well done on completely NOT answering any of my points.
P.S. Here is a hint: For the customer it is basically irrelevant WHY you aren't supplying what you promised. The end result is that you aren't supplying it, so the question then becomes what are you going to do for the customer? Last edited by ChrisH on 18-Sep-2012 at 06:29 PM.

whoever tedd or bill, i am not going to debate about, it is your personal affair. i am answering to you as discreetfx. im not sure if having one account for multiple persons is in accordance with this site tos, but whatever, regarded what has been posted under this account i will have hard time to take anything further seriously. and this new announcement of you has just confirmed my expectations. dfx business as usual as it seems. |

Nice that you admit yourself that your business practices are shady. This is once again going to PR disaster for yourself just the same way like all those times when you said "It was Tedd!". |

Guess you missed the smiley. Not really, wawa just seems to think so. As always feedback is welcome and we don't do any shady business by the way. We did get a refund request for Aladdin 4D from a really old sale and it was honored and refunded. Last edited by DiscreetFX on 18-Sep-2012 at 07:36 PM.

im serious, so dont expect smileys on my part. i think its about a time that people or companies coming forth with announcements and preorders, taking bounties and offered free hardware by the community for a certain task are to be taken responsible for their factual achievements. i for my part will refrain from contributing to anything i do not consider perfectly secure. too much capital, effort and faith has been drawn into myths instead of feasible goals that it looks like it has become customary to screw the naive and dedicated users. i think it has to end. and its up to the users to take action: withdraw your money from bounties that do not meet your expectations and/or place it elsewhere; demand regular status updates. otherwise the platform will never get out of the mud. |

We removed Amiga OS 4.x, MorphOS & AROS from the supported platforms list of A4D 6.0 to be honest with our customers and not give false expectations. We don't want to promote a version we have not in fact seen for ourselves. Hopefully Aladdin 4D 6.0 will still come out for these platforms but we will not list it until we have proof first. This change was done to be more transparent and honest with buyers of the 3D software. We knew we would catch heat for this but wanted to put the needs of the customer first. _________________ Sent from my Quantum Computer.

Hey, it is good news! But not for us, because it take out a developer from another project that is similarly promised and marketed years ago.
It is a sad story but even I learnt a lesson from it. |

just after nobody in his sane mind would expect you to deliver anything "amiga". fine honesty. and just thereafter you try to catch any still unaware "amiga" customers into buying into aladdin5 as "gauging interest". another smart move. hardly anything to lose yet. |

IMO you should skip version 7.0 and head straight up for v. 8.0 bundled in AOS4.3. _________________

This is good to hear *if* this is consistently applied to all other customers, and would remove one of my complaints. (My other complaint remains, unless the news item is editied to get rid of the implication that sales will determine whether or not v7.0 is available for the Amiga.)
HOWEVER, this seems contrary to a comment made by "you" in an earlier thread (where it was claimed someone was outside the time-limit set by some ridiculous terms-of-conditions). And AFAIK someone is still awaiting a refund, so I remain somewhat skeptical.

While sad news on a individual level, this is a step in the right direction for DFX as a company. You can't have a company run by a two-headed Pushmi-Pullyu (well you can, but it is typically a disaster, as I think we have seen in DFX's case).

By the same person, or someone new? In the case of the first answer, I really hope you won't be sending them more money until they actually provide what they were supposed to in the first place.

I think it it is in Nov 2012
DiscreetFX (whoever uses the account) should not create false hopes again. Writing people that buy the old version can write what they want supported (of the amiga-platforms) and phrases like "evaluating" sound to me that you seem to create hopes (again) to make more sales. Remembering what happened in the past it would better not make any hints "what might be" but to announce only what is certain. You can of course say again "you did not promise it" but it is not a good style and destroys the last pieces of credibility. Trust must be build up again by your actions (and not words) |
