Nice, good to finally see a TCP stack for 68k Amigas which is both more up-to-date and available for purchase. BTW is this 68k-only and it shouldn't be used under OS4.x, am I correct?

@Fred_AROS

Yes, but in this case I believe it's the 68k version which was developed alongside the PPC version:

Maybe a third party could whip a GUI for making config scripts.

@all

On the AmigaOS4 version at least there is a preferences program to edit config files like host file, interface file, servers, etc.

For the rest what do you need interface for?

@elwood

it's not limited to classic hardware, it could work on a fast Amithlon machine, on UAE, on MorphOS, on OS4 (it's 68k but you could do it if you wanted to), on AROS 68k, on DRACO...

In fact, more than 11 years ago (before Hyperion's OS4 was even started), Olaf was nice enough to send me an early version of RoadShow, and all the network driver development for Amithlon was done using that stack. Having a Linux background myself, Miami and Genesis felt rather weird to me, whereas with RoadShow, I felt right at home.

It's a real shame that more than a decade had to go by before the 68k version of Olaf's fine stack finally gets a release!

Not to mention that there was a fully working GUI for RoadShow/Roadster back then.

"classic amiga computers" are the only amiga computers there are. this is a straight fact, unregarded that morphos, aros, os4 or amithlon user could refer to his machine as a "miggy", but thats his personal opinion and preference. period.

strange, since even arostcp has a prefs gui. and both the stack and its gui is working on 68k (hardware) just fine, even if i suspect it is slower than roadshow, as it feels slower as miamidx under aros68k.

That sounds like more debugging is needed... I don't have any hardware at hand to test this with.

I'm curious. Do you know if the original 68k AmiTCP Genesis works with this configuration? If so, I would be curious to know the interface settings for the Ethernet driver.

To bring it up to 68K Amiga standards. All the popular 68k Amiga TCP/IP stacks have a GUI such as Termite, Miami and Genesis. If it doesn't have a GUI it will fall way below very old standards.

Being the OS4 version has a GUI as it should I don't know know how this could be missing. Being that Reaction is based on BOOPSI code we had in OS3.9. The OS4 GUI should be portable.

Also, to be sellable, this needs to be better than the OS4 version and have a better GUI! Apparently Roadshow can share internet. But I gave up editing Unix scripts I hardly knew about. Who wants to do that!?

So unless Roadshow has a GUI, with easy setup of internet sharing. I don't see the point if having it on 68K. Might has well get out MiamiDX which has all these features as standard. That is what it will have to beat. MiamiDX is very old now. This should be an easy beat!
