Until Amiga or Eyetech back this up, i'm assuming its a rumour, but it would be great if they actually did ship in Q4!

@unclecurio

I think the link u added is a different company, the addres' don't match up.

I honestly think this is nothing more then a rumor, and a rather sad one.

Yeah - the other URL is in the right field(ish) but it's a South African co which doesn't quite tie up with the original news item.

Shame - I'd hoped to see more on this

Amiga.org, and Ann both mention this.

Apparently their site is down..

Oh... headache! Why did I read that???

But yes, you are correct. There really is an ATIOSYS.COM and they are manufacturers of computer components.

Check this google search result page.....

EDIT: I forgot to add... if this is indeed an official press release, then it can only be good news. The more variations available, the better.

Ben Hermans has basically confirmed this isnt a rumour. Cutting and pasting from ann.lu ..

ATIO System Inc., set to release microATX AmigaOne Q4/2003 : Comment 33 of 60 Posted by Ben Hermans/Hyperion (Trusted user) on 12-Aug-2003 17:02:41
ATIO is a subsidiary of FIC.

As I mentioned in Sacramento, they are involved in the production of AmigaOne machines.

This announcement about the Mini ITX AmigaOne should not come as surprise although I'm not sure it actually originated from ATIO.

" In order to serve the traditional PowerPC processor markets and to generate new ones, in addition to the Articia family of system controller chipset, Mai Logic has lined up a number of innovative solutions as the result of collaboration with its strategic partners, including Topshine Electronics Corp. and ATIO System, Inc., a subsidiary of First International Computer (FIC) Group."

Heh, looks like another A1 will be coming this way to Melbourne .

Hey, Bodie, good to see some A1 interest. I was beginning to think that Melbournians were all Pegasos fans.

Now I'm confused. The "press release" said MicroATX, not Mini-ITX.... unless someone read something else that I didn't see. I thought there was going to be both a MicroATX and Mini-ITX version, but maybe I'm wrong.

If this is true, then

If it another hoax, then

I hope it is true

Would we then have two AmigaOne's without AmigaOS

The original URL worked perfectly fine for me. However, the new board is listed for use with the Intel Pentium 4/Celeron, not a PPC. If someone spots it, let me know.

@ tonyw

nah man , there are a couple A1 heads here .

I´ll be snapping this one up! Damn, it means I´ll need to find a job though .

BTW did I ever tell you guys about this A1400 mock-up thing in Amiga Format I saw over 10 years ago? Well this is my chance to turn this into fruition !

Didn't Atio produce an ISA and tower solution for the A1200 around 97/98, a bit like Elbox's Mediator? Or is that a different Atio?

Does this news (if real) mean that I can have a laptop Amiga ONE?

Ben Hermans is sceptical, so I assume it's not looking good
for the credibility of this announcement;

Ben Hermans wrote on ANN:

Quote:

I don't think the announcement is genuine.

Yes, Atio has an involvement with Mai and the AmigaOne
hardware but posting it here and using the "Amiga"
brandname?

Very doubtful.

Oh well. Time will tell. Anyone checked the AmigaONE ML
lately for an Eyetech comment?
.

Yep, there's none at the moment.
If one should be posted, then I'll repost a short summary here.

The source is ANN.
Until I hear official backup from Amiga Inc or Eyetech I will not take any notice of this and as far as I am aware ANN is a somewhat unreliable source of Amiga info.

This is the site mentioned on ANN - but I won't believe this without more information.
