News   News : What OS should be proposed by retailers regarding Vampire V4 Standalone?
   posted by AmiDelf2 on 2-Jan-2020 13:37:07 (2954 reads)
Help the Apollo Team to decide where to go with their new Amiga Compatible motherboard
Vampire V4 Standalone.

What OS should be proposed by resellers as an option for the Vampire V4 Standalone?

Amitopia Amiga Magazine is supporting the Apollo Team and all of the Amiga Community so that the Amiga future is promising for everyone. We were asked to put this here because of many retailers and Apollo Team. We hope that this will help sales.

And the head developer of Hyperion's spinoff "ThoROS" finds AROS pointless - that's a bonus.

Dual boot option one for AmigaOS 3.1.4 and one for Aros. best of both worlds then.

vampire has free mint burnt into the flash afair. you can access it immediately with some key combination. i have stumbled across it accidentaly. it must really be a simple system. but looks spartan and neat at a first glance. so no need for tos. this poll is all ridiculous to say the least.

i have been booting workbench 3.9 upon aros ks. you need to strip the s-s of some unneeded stuff and two prefs saves are not compatible (locale- this by design, the other i dont remember). other than that you can load amiga 3.x ks if you prefer so, im certain.

Where is the Linux option?

It should support Linux so that people can use to to replace their OS4 machines.

On a more serious note, I've always considered Linux to be the perfect starting point for a modern AmigaOS, it certainly seemed to work out well for Apple.

I hope for Mike to get the legal stuff worked out so that 68k is not split in the future.
Waste of resources is so silly thing.
