I would think the text of the signature should give a title to
fleecy rather than just "fleecy moss".
Noone outside our little world knows who that is!
At least say "the CTO of AmigaInc, Fleecy Moss, said ..."

Ah well.

Yeah but that would turn him from a cult figure into a celebrity!

Maybe he appreciates anonymity?

Oxygenet, you're absolutely RIGHT.

They may have 500 programmers/artists.

Imagine 20 of them being able to write a utility/productivity package (in 4 months), when it would take 10 times more people to do the same program on a windos platform!!! (and a year or 2 to do it!)

They would have to acquire at least 5 machines.

Then imagine word of mouth in their offices of "you have GOT to try the AmigaOne in the basement!!!!!!" *

After they finish the project, the machines will always be there for them to dabble with!!

AmigaOne! AOS4.0! Production cost, less, return on investment, less, .... get foot in door, priceless!

BTW: They (Eyetech) should send Lucas Arts (ILM) a free machine, with 2 GB of ram and 2 200GB HDs in a RAID (striped) config!

* The story of Post-It(tm)
They invented a glue, that wasn't very good. The secretary started using it in her daily routine (by chance, I believe). Then other secretaries in the building, having received documents with them attached, asked for some too. Pretty soon the requests for more blocks of the stuff were overwhelming (just in the few buildings of the local division of 3M (I believe 3M makes it)).
Later on, the product went on to receive AWARDS too!

P.S. 562 Sigs

"What about uber paint? Isnt anyone even slightly excited that theres already an Open Source equivilent?"

As I said above I still use DPaint regularly. However, I'm definately interested in looking at any alternative options.

Uber Paint must be a pretty well kept secret. I just did a search & got four hits. One discussed the qualities of the contents of Paint Balls. One was a self-putdown concerning the poster's lack of skills with M$ Paint. The third was some huge incomprehensible IRC log. And the forth was this thread.

I'd be glad to see an Uber Paint URL. Or is this some inside joke that I just don't get?

That sounds a little overly negative. There is no reason why the Amiga scene cannot return within the next 12 months in terms of core support. The only way the Amiga can survive the next 5 years is certainly not on the back of geeks (such as ourselves! ) but only if it gets back home into the mass market. The new Amiga has to have a very aggressive stance on getting back to this position. It will be next to impossible but if AInc. don't aim for it the Amiga will disappear for sure.

Don't compare us to Apple! We are very definitely two different things!

I signed the petitiion too, and I have no intention of ever buying Deluxe Paint.

I mean the petition didn't say we'd buy it, only that we want EA to develop it, and sure, that would be great for the people that want it.

I'm dubious about the results of such a survey, but if it puts all of us in one spot, and results in only one e-mail being sent to EA then it does them a good service, cause they won't feel harassed, and if its respectful, no harm, no foul.
