Hollywood 4: VideoUp is out now
Date 28-Feb-2009 10:10:30 Topic: Software News
| Airsoft Softwair are proud to annouce the immediate availability of Hollywood 4: VideoUp. This is a major update which brings along many new features and general improvements over Hollywood 3. The biggest new feature is that Hollywood can now export AVI videos. Now Amiga users can for the first time create high quality video presentations with only a few mouse clicks - on their Amiga with Hollywood.
Also, you can use the powerful new auto scaling engines to export the video file in any resolution you like. All vector graphics (including true type text) will be scaled without quality losses so that they will look perfectly sharp even in high-end resolutions like 1920*1080 pixels. Hollywood uses the professional Motion JPEG codec (MJPEG) for video export which guarantees high quality videos and good compression. MJPEG can be played by all major video players on Amiga (e.g. DVPlayer under OS4 or MPlayer under MorphOS). Videos can be as long as your hard-drive space permits. By using the OpenDML AVI 2.0 standard, Hollywood is able to export AVIs that are greater than 4 GB without problems.
Of course, video files created by Hollywood can also use audio streams. Hollywood uses sophisticated techniques to guarantee perfect timing between video and audio. In fact, Hollywood 4's video engine was designed especially with the goal in mind that the timing of the original Hollywood script is exactly replicated in the video file. So you can create videos that are perfectly synchronized to music, for instance! Furthermore, you can use other programs to convert the video file created by Hollywood into a MPEG2 video and then burn it onto a DVD. Thus, you can use your Amiga to create your own videos!
Besides this impressing new feature Hollywood 4 has several other cool new features. Here is a non-exhaustive list of new features in Hollywood 4:
- Create AVI videos with Hollywood! - Layers system completely rewritten - much more powerful now! - Support for layer rotation & scaling - Mac OS X for Intel is now natively supported! - Support for true type fonts also under Windows & Mac - Powerful scaling engines allow promotion to any resolution - Transition effects can run asynchronously now - Support for 32-bit mouse pointer images - Mouse wheel support is now implemented - Hollywood applets can use compression now - Support for virtual files inside other files - Applets can be imported into Hollywood scripts - Many new masking techniques available - Files over 4 GB are now supported - Cool new features in the DOS library - Added support for dynamic object id selection - Hollywood code can be saved & loaded at runtime now - 10 new example scripts (over 60 in total) - Standard library set encompasses over 420 functions now! - Lots of other changes, optimizations and bug fixes
