| The SC3 Arcade Party returns to the Nucleus Art Gallery, 210 E. Main St., in Alhambra (Los Angeles area), California on Saturday, Oct. 1, from noon to midnight. Admission is $10 if pre-registered on-line or $15 at the door. Pre-register at the Nucleus website listed below.
Like at past SC3 Arcade Parties, there will be dozens of classic coin-ops and home consoles (including Commodore 64 and/or Amiga set-ups for gaming), SC3-TV, '80s music, a video game trading room, and the ever-enjoyable Rock Band. GameGavel.com, the video game store and auction community, will be holding a classic video game raffle. Attendees of SC3's earlier events will remember previous GameGavel.com (formerly ChaseTheChuckwagon.com) raffles, which have featured everything from Pac-Man lunchboxes to ColecoVision systems to vintage computer set-ups, and a whole lot more.
Live music will be performed by 8 Bit Weapon, ComputeHer, and Virt ; 8 Bit Weapon and ComputeHer are renown for their chip music, using an an ####nal of musical weapons: Commodore 64 and 128, Apple II, Nintendo Gameboy classics, Nintendo NES, Amiga 1200, Intellivision synthesizer, Atari 2600, Speak n Spell & Speak n Music, some hybrid lo-fi acoustic-electric drums, and an assortment of other vintage and toy synthesizers.
On Nucleus's second floor, art is added into the SC3 mix. Near the trade area, there will be artworks from the following people: Vanessa Zucker, Alicia Hollinger, Sasha Palacio, Kevin Sukho Lee, the Knitting wonder known as "LeeSaur", and Geoff, the "Resident SC3 Art Guy."
Speaking of art, the first-ever SC3 T-shirt with its artsy designs will be on sale on-line at the Nucleus store and at the SC3 Arcade Party. T-shirts are available in S/M/L/XL/XXL and cost $20 each.
