Self Destructing DVDs

| The American Manufacturer MGM has developed a way of causing a DVD to become unreadable after a period of time (for example a few days after opening it).
They coat the DVD with a series of chemicals which cause the reflective layer to deteriorate once they come into contact with air. The process once started is irreversible.
At the moment this is not being used on Film or Music DVDs, but MGM is not rejecting to co-operate with the film and music industries to create time limited media.
