3DO files for bankruptcy, looking to sell assets

Video game publisher 3DO has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and seeks to sell the company or its assets.

3DO is well-known within the Amiga community as Dave Needle and RJ Mical, two Amiga/Atari-Lynx engineers also designed the 3DO gaming console, which was released in 1994 but failed to catch on. Nowadays 3DO is best known for their 'Heroes of Might & Magic' game series.

3DO's CEO, Mr Trip Hawkins founded in 1982 the biggest game software company worldwide. That same year the name of this company changed from Amazin Software to the well-known Electronic Arts.
