The only thing I know is the block size : 512.
Just a remark. I don't know if it is a good choice to change all your partions to JXFS because as you know, it seems that Partition Wizard does not deal with it. If you have a crash, you will lose all your data.
For me, I will use JXFS for only one partition, the one I use for backup and making iso.

Are you using an older OS4 hard drive instead of a new empty one? _________________ Moxee AmigaOne X1000 AmigaOne XE G4 I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong. |

If I'm not mistaken, mask and maxtranfer doesn't have much to do with the filesystem, but the the capabilities of the disk itself. I think those defaults are goo for any modern disk.
A few older disks had to limit the maxtransfer because they could not handle an infinitly large chunk of data at a time.
The mask sets the rules for memory alignment an applies for the driver is my guess...
The 512 bytes blocksize isn't recommend for OS4, but for SFS and JXFS. _________________ - Don't get fooled by my avatar, I'm not like that (anymore, mostly... maybe only sometimes) > Amiga Classic and OS4 developer for OnyxSoft. |

I really hope ppl remember to read this tread.
Because. You really gotta remember that blocksize is 512 :)
Next, my DVD Drive was gone. Lot's of reboot etc....... So i made Yet another JXFS partition. And the drive came back. !!!!!
Guess i just have to add that to my Weird Fish Amiga features list. |

I do quite the opposite. I run JXFS everywhere except on my boot partition and my backup drive. I find tools like DiskDoctor, Partition Wizard, etc. never work when I really need them anyway. Nothing beats a real backup.Last edited by ssolie on 11-Sep-2008 at 03:28 PM.

Also remember that Kickstart/diskcache.library.kmod is required for JXFS to work. I commented it out but then my JXFS partition disappeared from Workbench.
