| Hi All,
This is an odd one.
If I use my Radeon 7000 AGP card with Warp 3D running the sound will go all distorted (WipeOut, GLMatrix when playing audio with a music player, etc..). However, my old Voodoo 3 (PCI) with Warp3D has no audio distortion at all (and is faster)!
Does anyone know why the sound distortion occurs?
I'm using a standard Sound Blaster 128!
Cheers, Bean.

Ive heard its a know problem with the radeon, it happens when warp3d and the warpos wraper are used in conjunction, eg wipeout. The voodoo 3 drivers dont have this problem at the moment and that why its fine with this and also the voodoo drivers have been around longer and are more optimised which would explain the greater speed. Hope that helps.

Best get my Voodoo3 in my AmigaOne then!
It does sound like the imaturity of the Radeon drivers which seem to be the probelm here - I've noticed it myself with Wipeout 2097 and the GLMatrix screensaver. _________________ After a decade away from the scene, I am back! |
