| Hi,
Anyone brave enough to try out test software can go here: http://www.tunenet.co.uk/download.html
...to download the version 0.56 of TuneNet (test version - not the public version).
TuneNet is an MP3 and MP3 Internet player for OS4 which can also grab station listings from the net. It's fairly basic at the moment.
Feedback via PM is always welcome...
..and no it doesn't broadcast yet!
Cheers, Bean.
P.S. Please read the instructions included!

Slightly OT here Bean but still, did you catch my latest post on the 'Audio' thread? I just have a quick question (I won't duplicate it here though, you know how these things go ).

It's been running nicely for a few minutes now (launched from browser) It even passed a special test that I alone (or few others only maybe) can do: I've got net connection problems so every now and then connection drops; if I restart the connection, TuneNet resumes playing nicely. Next time connection drops, I'll check another sequence of actions that used to crash TuneNet 0.50, then I'll let you know.
The GUI and overall functionality have improved a lot, congratulations! Only one small note: why is the slider of radio stations limited to a minimum of 20? OK, there's the ENV variable to disable scanning, but why not allowing the slider to go below 20 anyway?

OK, it happened again. This time, after the disconnection, I tried to close TuneNet by clicking on the close gadget of the window: like version 0.50, it did not listen (but I can understand this). So, I re-opened the connection, which previously used to cause a crash: now, TuneNet just exited (seemingly in a clean way), carrying out what it had been asked before. In all, it seems that this version is better also under the stability / error handling aspect... congratulations again!

edit: is it possible to do something like (quote=name) (parenthesis == brackets)?Last edited by saimo on 29-Jun-2005 at 11:00 PM.

the connection drops for me a lot too, when using ibrowse. especially, or almost only when i am loading sites with a lot of small images.. dunno why this is, but i bet your probs ain't related to tunenet, or does it only happen when using tunenet? or when using tunenet and browsing at the same time?

Nope, my problem is only with my ISP, as it happens regarless of what I'm doing (surfing/streaming/nothing). Olaf Barthel is already working on it (he already fixed a bug and found out that it's my ISP that closes the connection - at that point, AOS can only obey). Look at this thread to know more.
@everybody
Sorry for the OT.

"..and no it doesn't broadcast yet!" hmmm... are you planning on adding broadcast possibilities?
well, now to the question that I actually meant to ask, will you implement a favourites function, so that users can bookmark their fav stations?
and, another question, will sid4amiga support the new improved sid format? (I think it's called reSID or something, it's told to be far superior to the old PlaySID).
... no time to write more, gotta find a better station! _________________ AOS4 Betatester, Peg2, G4@1ghz, Radeon 9250 256mb, 1gb RAM.

... hmm.. about that 'finding a better station' ... :)
another suggestion, it would be really cool if you would add a filter function to the station list. Say, if i just wanna see all stations that have 'turntablism' in their name or description... type in turntablism as filter, and, bam!... erase 'turntablism' and all stations show up again... that would be really neat!

... aaaaaand.... while I am all tuned in to tunenet... here's another idea that popped up (just found a nice station!) imagine you are just listening to some really wack stuff that you'd like to hear again. Wouldn't it be nice with a 'Rec' button, that saves the stream you are listening to, right to disk? Me thinks so!... _________________ AOS4 Betatester, Peg2, G4@1ghz, Radeon 9250 256mb, 1gb RAM.
