| I thought this was interesting so thought Id share it with you all:
Unlike previous versions of these Moana based videos it actually shows the operating system in use. Does anyone have any info. about this ?

If its real its a good way of selling more "Classic" copies of OS4 without needing a license for other hardware...

holy moly! and it looks blo*dy fast too!! I'm more and more familiarizing with the idea of buying an used minimac and os4classic. my minime will be happy to have spare hardware..just in case.. :-p Last edited by Amigo1 on 01-Feb-2008 at 10:55 AM.

| Looks like I'll have to steal back my G4 macmini if this is a true possibility.

I fear it'll generate far more pirated copies then sales. If your going to break the EULA, why not do it for nothing?

| @damocles Because a lot of the people who do it don't actually want to break the EULA but feel they have no choice if they want to run OS4?
I'm not saying nobody will pirate it, but surely it would generate more sales than if the thing had never been leaked at all. _________________ Playstation Network ID: xeron6 |

| I hope it's true and that it work, but I do not feel like getting an old mac, I would really love new hardware to come out that we all can run OS4 on.

I don't think the remaining of the Amiga users would use a pirate copy of AmigaOS. |

| I am afraid that this is a fake. How should this work? You need to emulate a Amiga Classic with PPC-board to run AmigaOS4 Classic, which is tricky. But of course I would be very glad if it isn´t a fake.

Wouldnt necessarily need to emulate anything. Moana files simply replace those files that deal with hardware dependencies and replace them with MacMini equivalents.

| I find it a little fishy how he keeps moving the camera away from the display when he is clicking on something, and if you look near the end, there is something on the screen, and he keeps moving the camera away from it so you can't see what he is clicking on??
Is it a video he is playing, some sort of Power Point presentation system that he is running?
Could be anything.
Not once does he show any form of application running or any OS4 style game. Could all be a fake to get peoples hopes up.
I hope I'm wrong, because I would buy a Mac Mini in a heary beat if I could get OS4, otherwise I have to make do with my Classic.

| Looks real to me....
.. and why shouldn't it be?
We know that Project Moana was at least booting to some level on the Mac Mini anyway. We also know that the Mac Mini uses a graphics card that is supported under AmigaOS. It's not a massive stretch to believe that there's a version of OS4 out there which supports the Mac's DVD drive and mouse, is it? That's all else you'd really need to boot off the disk (notice this was running off the CD, so there's no need for hard disk partitions or anything like that).
I think this is almost certainly real. Not that it really matters... it's just soo frustrating given the lack of dedicated Amiga hardware!! |

I'll believe this when they show how to install the OS and actually show it boot into the OS right after the MAC OS smilie face. I think this is a hoax to try and get people thinking about running AmigaOS on Mac hardware. |

Ok, I don't believe this is real unless the dude it a developer able to hack everything into start.
I mean, how hard would it be to switch monitor cable when he "switched" from OS4 and booted up MacOS? Noticed he kept the camera off the screen just then, only filming the MacMini, if that's what it was.
I would love to see it, or on SAM, Ack, whatever, but... _________________ - Don't get fooled by my avatar, I'm not like that (anymore, mostly... maybe only sometimes) > Amiga Classic and OS4 developer for OnyxSoft. |
