| Topic says it all...
I ask because some guy over here in Germany has a problem with printing. He´s using a HP Deskjet printer with parallel port only by connecting it via a converter. It works fine with his 68k machine utilizing Poseidon, but for Sirion USB he can´t get it to work. It is recognized as printer class, but obviously it isn´t used the right way from usbprinter.class.
Are there chances to implement some more driver subclasses for such things, if needed? Anyone? kgrach? RWO?
If there are open questions (e.g. the converter chip used), please ask, I will pipe it to the guy to find out.
Regards

It's probably the same issue I have with my printer. It's a LJ1015 with both parallel (Centronics) and USB connectors. The parallel port works fine, but usbprinter.device refuses to recognise the printer. I suspect the USB is effectively a USB-Centronics adapter internally.
My investigation some time back reveals it is using the Dot4 (IEEE1284.4) protocol.
I'm looking at Gilles' USB printer code to see if I can rework it for Dot4, but don't hold your breath.
