You need to understand the difference between a logged in IRC client when someone is actually on the other end typing on it and one idling because the person using it has gone away to work on other things.
I have been out of the country on business, which has seriously inhibited my facilities to collect email ( because I didn't take my pop details with me ), go online and talk with friends ( because I got 15 minutes twice a day to myself with a network connection ), or spend more than 5 or so minutes reading banner headlines on the two sites I still voluntarily visit. Actually in the last few days of the seminars I lost even those two 15 minutes being engaged in conversation with delegates.
Amazing how you and your buddies resort to online character assassination and self-righteous posts like the above when you don't know what is going on and you don't see a response and you have no patience.
DaveyD, we need an out of office notice for the impatient, an ignore system for the rude, and a scoring system for the moronic.
There is only two people I will co-operate with on this, and one sent a nice PM to me, the other I replied to above.
Note for the blind: I said Linux hosted, it wasn't an "announcement" it was a reply to someone else!
I opened up a still open ( but disconnected window ) which had an IRC PM from Fabio, it starts with a question, then it goes on to "I dont know why you are ignoring me but thats OK".
Fabio, I was "ignoring you" because I was travelling.
Still, hey, any excuse for a DaveP-bash moment on other sites.
