Hello guys,

my uA1 750GX@800 with 512MB not boot from OS4.1.1 CD if i enable all 4 usb port from UBoot, it give me some errors or freeze the system, if i disable usb rear port or usb front it works, i can only start the system only with two usb port. After OS4.1.1 installation on HD the problem is the same, with old 4.1 i could use all four usb port. In conclusion or there is a problem in new USB Stack or the integrated uA1 Hub has a problem. Please guys help me, thanks in advance.

p.s. i could disable rear usb port and insert in the case a good hub connect at one internal MB usb header

@SOFISTISOFTWARE

Dunno, had trouble with it, but managed to struggle through by only using the primary hard drive controller, didn't even think to disable USB ports.

And I'm bored with fiddling about getting things to work to be honest.

@SOFISTISOFTWARE

Yep, I had this, too, but I didnt take rear USB into account... my machine booted up with only one IDE channel active (with rear USB enabled), so I thought it was IDE realted. After disabling rear USB, it booted with secondary IDE channel used, finally!

Thx for the tip, and I will give it along to Toaks!

Regards

@whose

i think with Articia chip the problems pop-up for ever, the developers can/could fix the problem with some patch but when an hardware is not build well we'll have problems for ever, i hope i'm not right. We could buy a new SAM Flex machine and sell these uA1....

Ciao

@SOFISTISOFTWARE

I also had problems booting my MicroA1 with OS4.1 update 1. I would either get a GR or a white screen with Workbench at the top or a black screen. Works like a charm now that I have the rear USB ports disabled.

@redfox

you can try to disable these modules in the file kicklayout

FastFileSytem (only if you haven't any partition with this filesystem)
Voodoo
it8212ide
lsi53c8xx
sii068ide
sii3112ide
sii3114ide
sii3512ide

and enable all four usb ports, it now works for me !

Ciao

@SOFISTISOFTWARE

I usually comment out unused kickstart libs for a faster boot, I'll see if I can narrow the problem file down a bit more.

@SOFISTISOFTWARE

Not smart to disable fastfilesyetem if you have adf disk images.

I disable all except the FastFIleSystem and Voodoo and it's booting fine for me now with all USB port enabled! Not a problem since I'm just using the built in IDE interfaces.

Weird problem then. I still have all drivers enabled in the kicklayout and have all USB ports activated. It looks like the difference is that I don't use onboard IDE but the IDE on a SIL0680 PCI card.

It looks like you all have the drivers loaded but don't use a PCI card.
