OK, what am I doing wrong ?

I have an Epson Stylus D92 printer, connected to the SAM440EP via USB, I have selected usbprinter.device, and downloaded a colour Epson printer driver from Aminet, and selected that, also tried the old epson drivers, Q,X Xold etc, generic.

No matter what I do, nothing prints, no error messages (if I turn the printer off, I get USB printer not found messages, so it must be being detected, right ?)

If I try to print in FinalWriter, the print progress bar comes up, and moves slowly along as if something is printing, again no error messages, the OS seems to thing that everything is OK and it's printing, but the printer just sits there, no sign of life.

I know the printer is OK, I've just moved to the Amiga from my PC to see if I get get it to work.

Any ideas ?

Thanks, that did the trick ! I'm printing again, just got to choose the right driver now to get the GFX printing correctly, but at least we are getting somewhere, Text now prints fine. Gfx is a tomorrow job

Wow, I'd love to have such a program for my HP LaserJet 1010 since I know that it can print fine from workbench once it got the init code sent to it (used to work by using usbctrl in linux debian and then rebooting to aos and print with hp laserjet 1100 driver).

Didn't know that Epson printers works, that's cool .

rwo has a beta DOT4 USB driver for various HP Laserjets on OSdepot..there's also a very long thread over at amigans.net....as of todsay my HP LaserJet1012 still isnt working with OS4.1u2 but hopefully rwo will come up with an update to the driver soon

Wow! I can't believe it! So simple. And I thought it was because a whole new driver was needed because the old commands didn't work anymore. Someone I know will be very happy.

When I read this I thought the Init string was already sent by the printer device. But I see it's Epson specific.

OK, no problem printing text, if I try to print gfx I get lots of blank pages, any idea which driver I should be using ?

I'm experimenting at the moment with drivers that I can find, but if anyone knows what I should be using, please speak up
