Nice. Glad to see that there is still enough of a market in the original Amigas to make this all worthwhile. _________________ Sam |

Good. I like the blog and two YT Channels (Hyperion and this one), only stupidity is that videos are set to almost private (by invitation), have no tags, as well as they do not allow comments.
However, big improvements in communication with masses.
However, MorphOS went step further with very detailed documentation/tutorial on line.
Its interesting to see that Classics will live up to 4.1 and in 2011.
I assume its more indication how well OS 4.1 can be optimized, as well as that SAM/ A1/ Peg sales are generally lower then original Classic PPC Cards _________________ OS 3.x AROS and MOS supporter, fi di good, nothing fi di unprofessionalism. :) glad you like it. I turned off the Youtube comments because I'd like to see the comments on the Hyperion Blog site instead.
It was fun making the video too :)
More to come later :) _________________ AmigaOS 4.x Beta Tester - Classic Amiga enthusiast - http://www.hd-zone.com is my Amiga Blog, check it out! |

Since you are the owner:
1) Set videos as public 2) Add quality tags that will help people find it or have it displayed in related videos (e.g Amiga AmigaOS Classic A4000 A1200 Zorro PowerPC PPC Blizzard Radeon General IT AmigaClassic ClassicAmiga Operating System OS AmigaKit ...) 3) Open the comments, no evil there and we will see what people say 4) Add some description and link to blong in description
Yes, its some additional work, but if you want to be on the Tube, is much needed _________________ OS 3.x AROS and MOS supporter, fi di good, nothing fi di unprofessionalism. Learn it harder way! SinclairQL and WII U lover :D YT http://www.youtube.com/user/rasvoja |

| @HammerD FINALLY some good promos from Hyperion!
why do you just link to youtube, instead of putting these videos (as you tube objects) in the blog's posts? Last edited by andres on 06-Jan-2011 at 07:01 PM.

Looks good, performance looks pretty smooth. How fast is the PPC chip?
Does OS4.1 do context switching, i.e. can it use the 68k chip too? |

I can't recall which machine that was done on (I made the video some time ago), but I have two 233MHz 604e machines and one 366Mhz 604e (Cyberstorm PPC overclocked).
The physical 68K is disabled and there is an integrated 68k emulator in OS 4.x. _________________ AmigaOS 4.x Beta Tester - Classic Amiga enthusiast - http://www.hd-zone.com is my Amiga Blog, check it out! |

As explained, 68k CPU is not used at all and is disabled. OS is PowerPC native 100% and 68k code is emulated via Petunia emulator. This means that users with faster PPC chips (604e 166Mhz+) would benefit more, and I remember people used to buy cards with faster 040/060 chips since at OS 3.x time, this was more important while PowerUP/WarpUp software was rare.
OS 4.0 Classic had ability to acess AGA chips on board (even to run OS 4 on AGA without GFX), but no one ever mentioned did this provided ability to use ADF files and Classic software without E-UAE (interesting comparative advancement over new generation Amiga boards, as well as abiity to boot older MorphOS).

Well, it was about time, both OS`s are quite mature and developed, and finally again have hardware availiable!
It was about time to tell it to the world!
What I miss with Hyperion is old nice OS4 site, I believe it was os4.hyperion.biz_________________ OS 3.x AROS and MOS supporter, fi di good, nothing fi di unprofessionalism. Learn it harder way! SinclairQL and WII U lover :D YT http://www.youtube.com/user/rasvoja |

The articles that were on that site are now on the Hyperion Blog.
But yes, I liked the old site too :) _________________ AmigaOS 4.x Beta Tester - Classic Amiga enthusiast - http://www.hd-zone.com is my Amiga Blog, check it out! |

Thanks, feel free to add more tags, they help a lot!
Again, if you wish blog to flourish, leave its link in the description, otherwise "the YouTube people" will not know of it.
Just left the Blog comments, but I still believe you shouldn`t separate these two. Blogers will leave it on blog, You Tubers will leave it on YT video.

Probably my camera (manually held) with my hand...;)
Compositing is shown briefly in this video, yes. Keep in mind that this is an older video and the first video I posted to the Blog is with more updated version of the Beta.
Blender works (that was it starting up at the Blender splash screen in the video) but it can tend to crash in low gfx memory situations, so Radeon is preferred for it. I've been meaning to send some bug reports to the author but I just haven't had the time. Last edited by HammerD on 06-Jan-2011 at 09:17 PM.
