| Hello All,
I just bought Cyberstorm MK2 (060) card to replace my Warp Engine card in my genuine A4000T and I am getting all sorts of problems with the Cyberstorm. From boot up crashes to the Cyberstorm SCSI module not boot up the machine! So I have to remove the SCSI module. I have looked on the internet and found that some of the early Cyberstorm MK2 has problems with the onboard SCSI controller in A4000T which causes the crashes. Has anyone had the same problems and if so how did they fix the problem as I really don't want to sell the card!
Thanks in advance, Merv Stent |

Just wondering does it work fine when the SCSI module is removed and if not then what versions of the 060 library are you using...
You can find the last ever made SCSI updates for your board here...
http://phase5.a1k.org/index.php?driverslibraries
Perhaps one of those might help... _________________

What drive controllers have drives attached?
Can you boot the machine with a single drive attached to any of the controllers?
Does the problem occur only when a device is attached to both SCSI controllers?
Does the A4000T motherboard IDE connector function without causing problems?

I've searched the internet as well but have found no such problems. Can you site some direct references from your search? Thanks. |

| I've have the info regarding this. What Amiga1084 is referring to is in the notes for this: http://amiga.resource.cx/exp/cyberstorm2
And to quote: Quote:
CyberStorm 040 SN# B400506 - B400569 and CyberStorm 060 SN# B002827 - B003065 are affected by several DMA related problems due to a slight difference in the electrical specifications of certain parts caused by supplier change
symptoms: SCSI units connected to the internal SCSI bus of the A3000(T) are not recognized while having RAM installed to the CyberStorm
does not work in the A4000T with RAM installed on the CyberStorm
in an A4000 with a Fastlane or a A4091 SCSI controller installed, peripherals connected to the SCSI bus are not recognized
boards with these serial numbers had to be sent back to Phase5 for rework |
However there is no mention of any crashes here so I don't know what Amiga1084 is going on about. |

Have you got the full kit? With the external socket and terminator that comes with it? Last edited by Hypex on 31-Jul-2012 at 02:47 PM.

I guess Amiga1084 has the answer here: "does not work in the A4000T with RAM installed on the CyberStorm".
Does it work without RAM installed on the CyberStorm? Is your serial number one of the affected ones? |

He checked and said it was. However the statement about RAM is a bit vague. I wondered what didn't work, such as the whole machine?
But, to answer your question, I haven't seen this tested so I don't know. However, the machine was booting up when I saw it a few months back at least, with RAM on board. Even if it did crash soon after.
I have the machine in my possession and now it just doesn't work at all. But the machine is in a mess. It has no terminmators installed at all. A Mediator fell out when I opened it and had no power attached. Card spacers are missing. I made a shortlist and now it's become a longlist of errors!
For some reason Amiga1084 has an aversion to both SCSI terminators and giving feedback on self-created threads. LOL.
We're going to test the machine tonight at my Amiga club. See if they can find out what else it wrong with it. Hope they get it to boot. I've got software settings to check! |
