thanks for the link

interesting...
Quote:
Hyperion is currently working on AmigaOS 4.1 Update 5 is in the works now. "AmigaOS 4.2 will come later on which will introduce hardware accelerated 3D support, a vastly improved file system API and many other features," Solie says. The list of features that Solie would like to see added is "endless". A modern file system is one feature, and multi-core support, which is currently being worked on, is another. |

as far as I can tell it starts off with an "OS4 sucks, use MOS instead", so I don't really see what you're complaining about here. _________________ This weeks pet peeve: Using "voltage" instead of "potential", which leads to inventing new words like "amperage" instead of "current" (I, measured in A) or possible "charge" (amperehours, Ah or Coulomb, C). Sometimes I don't even know what people mean. |

Wow... you learn something new every day...
I had always thought Hyperion were a small outfit but not that small... "Two full time developers", that's a bit of a shocker but it does kinda explain why things move so slowly...
Can somebody clarify this statement Mr Solie made...
Quote:
"If you include all the various Amiga clones and emulators we would probably be talking about around 10,000 users [in] total," |
I never knew OS4 could run under any of the Amiga emulators out there, is this true...

I think you too ...
There are only a few comment (8 or 9 max) and almost 2 or 3 are the usual anti-OS4 bullshit and lies like that one:
Comment 7 Quote:
AROS and MorphOS are the more advanced Amiga systems in the market. OS4 offers nothing more than a glorified UAE clone. |
Comment 4 Quote:
OS4 itself is almost ten years out the gate but is still in beta. Buggy, slow, crashy, just go read the forums at amigaworld.net. OS4 doesn't even support USB2 yet nor does it have 3D drivers. |
The only unique comment (that even comes in reply of that attacks) in defense of OS4 only say that MorphOS isn't any better than OS4 in general .._________________ BACK FOR THE FUTURE

In other words, jim is a MorphOS fanboy. Fri 01/06/2012 - 23:05 Because he invested in a pegasos back then. MorphOS isn't AmigaOS and isn't any better then AmigaOS, AROS and MorphOS has even less developers and the claim thats it more reliable than AmigaOS makes you look as retarded as a hipster Apple fanboy, why is it more reliable ? because it is according to you or just because it so happens that you don't have AmigaOS ? Oh, UAE ? come on.... If you don't like Amiga, then you just could say it like this, "I prefer MorphOS over AmigaOS however" instead going AVGN/Adolf Hitler all over it.
|
This guy using nick "Jim" poster never said he is using AROS, AmigaOS, MorphOS or anything.Last edited by itix on 01-Jun-2012 at 02:06 PM. Last edited by itix on 01-Jun-2012 at 02:05 PM.

That's not a secret, the "official" developers are the Fridens bros only, others works as "external" programmers ..
About the word "emulator" i think Ssolie in his reply included the entire AmigaOS community.
So the OS3 users aswell --> so including it even include users with WinUAE _________________ BACK FOR THE FUTURE
