AOS4 on SCSI?

I've already asked this in the replies to the announcement of the prototype AOS4 installation manual, but got no replies.

The install manual shows installing AOS4 on an IDE drive, and the screen shot of choosing the driver for the MediaToolbox (do I have that name right? I'm going by memory... I mean the replacement to HDToolBox) only shows a1ide.device in the list. If I were to install a U-Boot friendly SCSI card with HDD would I be able to install AOS4 there?

I've always assumed that you could. In talking about it nobody has contradicted that assumption.

@Sembazuru

For the prerelease no. There is no SCSI driver yet WITHIN OS4. (I asked a while ago about the same thing and that is what I was told). For the RELEASE of OS4, there will be a SCSI driver yes. (Again, this is what I'm told). I want to install OS4 on a SCSI drive too.

I have linux on a IDE right now, and need to get another drive for OS4 itself at this point.

Hope that answers your question.

@LordArt

Thanks for the info. Do you (or anyone else) know if a SCSI driver might be available before OS4 is released?

I would be happy to test beta drivers with my SCSI card, Zip & CDRW.

Regards,
JCC
