Thanks to GaryC and Kronos for their statements, which I had considered sufficient for not having to reply here myself as well. But before more accusations like the above arise here, once again:

Yes, we were interested in licensing the name and OS4, yes we were ready to pay for it, yes we came to agreements with the respective parties - but right when the only thing left had just been to sign and transfer the money, surprisingly Mr. McEwen stepped in with sudden demands and restrictions which, to put it nicely, had not been economically acceptable for us - so that we finally listened to our advisors like PWC, who had been strongly suggesting to establish our own brand instead before already. Thus we stay Linux for now and bring in AROS step by step as it's development goes ahead; i.e. in the mid-term future "just" as a Linux-hosted extra so far, for some additional and optional basic home-computer functionality.

Conclusion: The device confirmed by Hans-Jörg & Thomas is definitely not our Ariana. My personal guess regarding this, too, is the ACK development. German readers interested in Ariana anyway can find a thorough test of our device in the current issue of the print magazine Amiga Plus, btw. Any further questions please send by e-mail, since I'm not a regular reader of this forum.

@NutsAboutAmiga

I have to edit that comment, as it's not fair to either Senex or AHT Europe. They (Senex) have explained previously that they were to pay the license fees and such, but couldn't agree on last minute additons to the contract. He wouldn't elaborate on that, and I respect that. Things like that have no business being dragged out into public forums.

They didn't strike a deal, and AHT moved on. That's a sad fact, as I cannot see that Amiga have the market presence to be pushing prospective licensed hardware to the curb. But that's only my opinion, and maybe they have some big fish on the hook, who knows. Please don't assume or accuse others of being like that other company that you inferred.

Edited- Trollish comment

With reagrd to your ridiculous comment. AROS is open source.

Do RedHat, Sun, Novell, IBM and Apple steal GNU/BSD software?
