It must feel good to have something to demo at last. You have been working on this engine for quite some time.
Screen blanker type programs can be a good testbed - you could try mimicing some of the others I have seen on Windows - the teapot, pipes, etc... or come up with others of your own.
You engine will help push out any rough edges in the MiniGL system as well, which is a good thing in itself.
Keep up the good work.

| @Xeron : I know but I don't like it ...
@gregthecanuck : lol Yeah, I've added recently limbs support for 3D objects. I just create this screen blanker for some french Amiga friends that don't like actual one (like me :p)
I've added a small executable to test. Tell me if it's smooth on your config and which config you use ;)

It's definitely smooth on my A1-XE
The ball looks very distorted when it's near the egdes, I guess the FOV is set really wide. _________________ AlexC's free OS4 software collection

So are you going to try your hand at making games with AmiDark? _________________ Men who have girlies in their avatars are Girliemen! |

Good question that. I have never written games (of any consequence), but I do write software for a living. This is sucking up all my spare time as I am partners in a relaunch of an ERP platform that has been 'dormant' for about the last 10 to 15 years, strangely and spookily similar to the OS4 situation. Insane amounts of code rewrites are going on - mostly on the UI.
At the moment I do my best to support the Amiga ecosystem. That will include buying either a Sam460ex or an X1000 (PCI-express is what I have been waiting for).
"Way back when" I bought a full-load A3000UX development system and shortly thereafter C= dumped Amiga UNIX. It was the start of the end of Amiga and it put me off programming on the Amiga platform.
What I like seeing is frameworks such as AmiDark that make it easier to get things done. These benefit from the great foundations laid in the MiniGL system, the compositing system, and numerous other goodies being plugged into OS4.
Maybe one day I might try my hand at some Amiga applications, but that will have to be in my spare-spare time. I have kids now as well, etc...
Cheers! |

Cool man.
It took a while to get to the other side, What came first, the boing or the ball?
Then it warped in the middle and as it drops it blurs on my LCD monitor.
At the end I noticed it used quite a bit of CPU time, just like the original, but to good effect.
Look forward to seeing the final one. But without that Sam400EP writing since I have an AmigaOne. Last edited by Hypex on 24-May-2010 at 03:29 PM.

| @Hypex I use this backdrop because it's one of my creation ;) so I'm sure I will not break some copyright ... But it will probably be another one on final blanker ;)
