[Solved] Startup-sequence

Hi,
Does someone know how to increase the keyboard repeat's speed and delay ?
I'm almost sure we can achieve it by adding a command instruction in the startup-sequence but I just can't found which one it is.
Without this command the keyboard is so slow under Asmone.
I use A500 with 1.3 kickstart.
Thanks for helping.

@Nori

I'll have to dig about 24 years back into my memory but if I remember correctly this is set over Workbench's preferences.

I'll have a look at it to verify my memory.

Just verified it... Indeed it's in Preferences on Workbench.

@Nori

You cant set it from startup-sequence. You must run Preferences program and set keyboard speed and delay there. Settings are saved to small preferences file on the disk and is loaded automatically.

@Nori
Welcome!

Do note, BTW, that there is a special forum for Classic Amiga Software, including Workbench (and another for Classic Amiga Hardware). You will probably be more sure to (only) get useful answers there instead of in an all-platform developer forum. I myself was almost trapped into posting an explanation of finding this in the Prefs/Input editor on OS 4.1 .

Best regards,

Niels

@itix + Nori

i used to create "malware" just to piss off some friends for fun and that was by making it load a different workbench setup every now and then.

why am i telling you this?...

you can execute different settings on boot / startup if you want but before so you have to use the "saveAs" function in all the prefs programs like language,input,screenmodes and so on and then call them whenever you want them to do by doing script.

it was very fun .

@nbache
Thanks. Next time I will now where to post.

@Toaks
I confirm, it's to be used under the 1.3 Amiga kickstart version. The old blue cute workbench.
