What is the fate of your source code?

Best of luck on your future projects.

@Slash

This makes me sad

Eyetech should give him a new MicroA1 or fix his board.

Customers shouldn't be ignored, Eyetech is breaking the law because they are not respecting the warranty of the board.

And we lose a skilled developer and friend, thanks to Eyetech, the so-saviours of the Amiga

Is it so hard to replace his board??? I don't think so.

I would call the police if I were you. With companies like DCE or Eyetech it seems the only thing the user can do.

It must be hard if there are no boards :(

This is not a good sign. Eyetech should at least communicate with e-mail.

@Mr_Capehill

That's not the customer problem, if they don't have any board on stock they should give him his money back.

@Mr_Capehill

That disrespect for the warranty of their own products is a criminal behaviour that should be punished by the law.

I suggest that if Daniel lives in the UK he talks with a lawyer and denounces Eyetech to the police. All affected customers should do that to stop Eyetech laughing of their customers.

Having a small market doesn't give you the right to break the law.

Sorry to hear that things didn't work out for you.

Bloody shame, really, I thought Epistula seemed quite promising..

This is bad news if Eyetech are unable to satisfy developers. Any comments from Eyetech would be gladly received at this point.

@Slash, all

This is really, really sad.

Amiga situation is difficult and complex but no company has the right to deal his customers in this way....
Is this our future?
We have to buy a mobo for a lot of money and hope that all will go fine?

These aren't the conditions for a rebirth for amiga, but the conditions for a slow death.

This community, if this is a community and not a collection of individuals, have to take conscience of this situation and expect an explanation from Eyetech about this.

All here are supporting amiga in any way, buying boards or software, there are a lot of ppl like Hyperion or BitbyBit that are working hard to offer a bright future for amiga and, like all we can see, there is no support from the manufacturer of a1?

Slash, I, and our community needs explanations, serious and real explanations.

ps:
sorry for my bad english

Sorry to hear about this.

There's simply no excuse, no matter what may be going on with EyeTech, to leave this alone for so long, and flat-out ignore their warrantee. Even if they don't have a CPU module on hand, the courtesy of a response is pretty much required.

1. Any chance of getting a Troika board if/when released? I expect some people might be willing to donate to help out a bit.

2. Failing #1, any chance of opening the Epistula source? Sorry if it seems blunt, but you did say you may not have an account here much longer

Again, sorry...this is really inexcusable, period.

@Slash

I just read the news and it's pretty much sad. I agree that Eyetech is a company of joke. They don't really to the job great anymore. Hopefully, other hardware companies will come into play, which likely seems to be the case, after the announced stuffs from the AmiGBG show earlier this summer..

I think it's time for Eyetech to say goodbye, if they have not decided to pull themselves together and taking the situation more serious. I'm not suprised that this happened, but yes...very sad indeed...

Epistola would have been a great alternative to JabberWocky..

I was lucky enough to do the deal with this Canadian friend, otherwise i would have been waiting for a VERY, VERY LONG time...!

Think i've sad enough of the Eyetech situation. Just hearing the companys' name, makes me...well, i rather not say. I must say that there are a lot of strange, bad stuffs going on with Eyetech. I'm sure they'll be put into justice by others and probably others will step in and do the job Eyetech is not able to do anymore. I've had quite enough of this Eyetech acting stupidy like this..

Maybe Eyetech should get a new job - in a circus, as CLOWNS! THAT's what they are! Clowns NOBODY is laughing of!

But don't worry. There will be other companies comming into play conserning new Amigas for the future, if you got the news from the AmiGBG earlier this summer.

I am sorry to hear that, but perhaps this thread will gain Eyetech's attention sooner or later and they might be willing to sort it out.

Failing that good luck to whatever platform you flock to next, hopefully not the dull world of Wintel.

Normally I'd suggest doing this as a last resort, but over 2 months should be more than enough time for either Eyetech or the dealer to sort it.
The simplist way would be to complain to Trading Standards, or goto the local small claims court, just a small form to fill out and no lawyers or police needed. Although isn't it the dealer who's legally responsible for sorting out problems like this (unless Slash bought it direct from Eyetech)?

BTW, anyone remember this quote from one of Bill McEwens Executive Updates..google cache
Quote:
From the top of the company to the bottom, we are committed to championing the cause of quality for the consumer and will ensure that substandard products do not make it into the Amiga market where they can do irreparable damage to the reputation of the platform. Licencees will have to develop and resource a full customer solution, with guarantees on product quality, delivery, and most important of all post sales support, with firm commitments to repair, replacement and turnaround, elements that have blighted the platform over the last five years.

/me waits to get modded to Hull and back.

Sorry to hear about your mess Slash. Hope when you can cool off, maybe in a couple of days things might look a little better for you.-)

It would be sad if you leave, as some in the Amiga community were willing to donate to get you fixed up. ;
