Seems like a nice piece of hardware, it creates a dualhead display out of a single VGA output. Sadly it doesn't work on OS4 yet, as DDC/EDID support is not yet implemented.

At the end of the article, it lists a Micro AmigaOne with Radeon 700 graphics as one of the tested machines.
So, OS4 is EDID capable??? |

That's not the end of the article, it's just the end of the first page of it

| @dear1700 No, sg responded in the forum section saying os4 is not yet edid capable.
Once it is though, this device really shouldn't require hardware drivers for the device itself. A bit expensive at ~$150, but pretty cool nonetheless.

| How does that work anyway (let's say would support edid). Does the "splitter" recognize one long line and splits that into two ? Or how does the gfx board send the two pictures ? Internally it's one big screen, right ?

But in this case the reference had a use, concluding as it did that even though this product is marketed as "XP only", there is a lot of potential for other platforms.
This is an awesome product, and working support for this in OS4 would be truly great for those who have a µA1. So, EDID anyone?
Since I re-watched "Starsky and Hutch" yesterday I'm just gonna say "Do it now. Do it. Come on, do it". (Either you get the reference, or you don't. No explanation forthcoming) _________________ This weeks pet peeve: Using "voltage" instead of "potential", which leads to inventing new words like "amperage" instead of "current" (I, measured in A) or possible "charge" (amperehours, Ah or Coulomb, C). Sometimes I don't even know what people mean. |

Looks pretty cool... would be awesome to try a few of those things connected to a Matrox dual (or triple) head card... 2 monitors connected to each of the 3 outputs... wo! _________________

I wonder why no DVD-I connector had been chosen for MicroA1. This connector already includes both analog and digital video output. So, maybe with some cleverness and a split-cable this could lead to the same result?
Btw, I found a nice pic of what is possible with a $30 card. |

Very cool thx.
@ppc4me: man, youre boring me. Back in the late 90s i could do the same with 2 Mirage 64 PCI Cards (maybe today such cards don't cost money *lol*) - so its nothing new!! Last edited by cHaOs667 on 20-Jan-2006 at 07:42 AM.
