A positive article for Amiga I'd like too see those unknown pices from Warhol.
Some parts of the text sounded very familiar though,
compare this part from the article:
""Andy Warhol was just the first of many creative people to find that the Amiga offered entirely new possibilities and new ways of working. With powerful audio and video capabilities as well as the best graphical display of the era, Amigas rapidly found a place in the hearts and studios of many artists, filmmakers and musicians, as well into the homes of millions of ordinary families. Amigas were used by Disney and Spielberg, in Babylon 5 and Star Trek. They were found in television studios around the world, used by Arthur C. Clarke to create images of Mars, and by NASA to track satellites. They made the basis for many of the first Virtual Reality systems and provided interactive displays in countless museums. They've been used to control laser displays, run theme park rides, and operate stage lighting systems in the West End and on Broadway"".
With this from Hyperions OS4-site

Too bad a contemporary Amiga couldn't have been used for the reshowing instead of doing this: Quote:
...this short masterpiece (20 painted frames) was reconstructed by Arnie Friedhoff and his team at ITN on a retro-fitted Mac G5... | ...whatever that means.

I guess that they may have bought a catweazle...
But I really think that it is stupid to properbly use 100thousands of $ on this... when they simply could go an Amiga user... I am sure that most Amiga users would be happy to help_________________ Best regards, hnl_dk - Henning Nielsen Lund [Denmark]

That's kind of hilarious when they could've got a $30 garage sale computer (A500) to do it :DLast edited by JKD on 09-Nov-2006 at 08:10 AM.

Not a good advert for MacOS if it took them 5 years to put 20 frames and some music together. |

Nice jab at Macs, but I'd bet the 5 years was more about carefully reading the disks without the 15- to 20-year-old magnetic bits falling off._________________ Tony T.

| LOL!
There are plenty of people on Amiga.org giving their Amigas for free if only someone will take care of the transport, or mail packaging.
If only one of them will gift his Amiga to this Museum of New Art, then the artwork of Andy Wharol will be shown directly on the original media on which it was created.

Plagiarism?! Say it isn't so! But then again, perhaps Hyperion plagiarized this from someone else as well. _________________ When swimming with sharks, make sure to bring lots of band-aids... |

Or perhaps Hyperion plagerized it from artdaily.com, and then later on a particularly wiley editor at Hyperion sent their own article back in time so it would be published prior to the artdaily.com article and that artdaily.com would be punished due to the rather brutal galactic copyright laws...
(Obscure HHG reference... )

Remember a couple of months earlier when the official OS4 site was down. Art Daily tried to cover up the theft of said text, only for the plan to backfire because they executed the server attack too early. |

Ahhhh...HHG! It's been a few moons since I last re-read this series of books. Perfect time for me to re-read them once again and get some more humour into my life! I just love how these books manage to turn the world, science and technology, phylosophy and just all of what we consider to be conventional wisdom on it head!
I wish someone in my neck of the woods would replay the old BBC TV mini-series and/or even the original BBC radio-play this was all based on.

Check Amiga.org.
In three months I have seen at least three times some people giving Amigas for free, and asking only the charge about mail expenses.Last edited by Raffaele on 11-Nov-2006 at 07:04 PM.

That's right. I've personally picked up a a500, with 500 floppies, four joysticks, a genlock and an external HD for free.
