It was even "up and running". You may want to see some videos as well.

There was to Dragon boards on the meeting. Firs installed into A1200 runs OS3.9 and plays dvd and the second separately lying around to let the people touch it.

Compatibility with classic is second question....
68k compatibility is 100%. Only non-DOS stuff (mostly games) woun't work.

Like with some 68k accelerators I would imagine you could turn the coldfire off by holding down a key at boot or something. They were demonstrating something with an early boot menu, you could just boot a different drive from there for classic games and have a dual screen setup or scandoubler of some sort.

Looks very interesting, just wish I understood Polish! The new A1200 tower is pretty tasty too.

I think we will see Dragon's on sale long before a PPC board - maybe OS4 should be ported to coldfire?

Surely the next step is a Coldifre motherboard? Elbox have the graphics, sound, USB, IDE, TV card drivers etc already and a processor now by the looks of it. I guess the biggest issue to get over would be the kickstart ROM.

And I wonder what posibilities there would be for putting a Coldfire processor on a minimig or the Clone-A some time in the future? A Coldfire Clone-A itx board would be so cool.

Talking about USB, these movies clearly show that Elbox is using a pirated or cracked version of Poseidon 3.x. No one at Elbox has a licence, and no, "borrowing" a key from somebody is not legal.

(The directory listing also shows up some interesting things like "Prometheus.card", which is software copyrighted by Matay and/or the P96 team.)

@platon42

I don't get this attitude, as someone who bought a Spider USB card from Elbox and then paid you to register Poseidon.

Elbox are making a market for your software and you take this attitude - you should be giving them a key file and thanking them for choosing to support your stack with USB hardware!

If they are using a cracked key that is wrong of course.

I've read in another thread that it was a TV card connected to a DVD player.

That's a pity... that card could be interesting for launching 060-only demos like latest TBL ones but without good game/demo compatibility I already have my Pegasos, my CSPPC or WinUAE.

@hatschi

People who attended claim that by the end of the year but I would not take it for granted because we know how many times different enterpreneurs surprised or disappointed us. Time will tell.
