Inception Group Real Estate LLC appears to reside at :

34935 Southeast Douglas Street
Snoqualmie, Washington 98065

This appears to be a former address of Amiga's:
http://www.ar-kleinert.de/executive.txt
http://www.amigahistory.co.uk/10mar2000.html

So I wonder if they had a sublease or something with them.

Anyway I'm guessing this is probably a suit against Amiga (WA) and not Amiga (DE) (given the address above).

Of course, if they aren't clued in already about the connection between the two firms, I'm guessing they will know soon.

When a company can not pay its bills, honor its contracts, or deliver products over a span of 8 years, perhaps it's time for it to close its doors... or at least transfer its assets (if they exist) over to another company headed by a Mr. B. McEwen.

The real question is... "What will they call themselves until they come back as Amiga Inc?" Will they be AITech? AKMOS? AminoAgain, LLC?

My apologies for the sarcasm, but Amiga Inc's history is laughable at best and stressfully depressing at worst. It is strange that in 2000, we all thought Bill McEwen and Fleecy Moss, who were deeply involved in the Amiga community at that time, would rescue Amiga from the clutches of the failed Gateway attempt to make the PCTV a linux box with an Amiga label.

The only good thing Amiga Inc did was enter into a badly written contract with Hyperion, allowing them to rescue the OS. We don't hear anything about Hyperion having to change its name several times to avoid debtors. We don't hear anything about Hyperion making false promises about sports arenas. We do see finished products from Hyperion and its partner ACube.

The Inception Group may be a one person company

http://www.manta.com/company/mmf9d9q

possibly run by this person:

Mr Clary appears to run at least a second company from that address (Metron Systems Inc):

@fairlanefastback

I gather this is the same Inception Group that filed also in 2003.

From the news in 2000:

ok. Checked some old posts by Tigger and Rich Woods on amiga.org.
Tom (Inception Group) was surely the landlord by all accounts.

Sounds like the old Amiga got caught for not going the bankruptcy route.

I'd be interested in knowing if any of the old "amiga" debts were transfered or Guaranteed?

I understand what you're saying, but I don't see anything more than just the filing atm. I have no idea if this is regarding something new or addressing older business.

I think Amiga users should write an impact statement on how the actions of Amiga Inc. have hurt us and collectively file it with the court.

You know, since Amiga Washington is actually Amino again it might be more likely that Inception got wise to the existence of the newer firm. If this were actually against Amiga Washington I would think it would be Inception v. Amino.

Well, I see it as a capitalist form of preventing unemployment, what would all those poor lawyers go if people did not sue?

So here we go again?

I have no idea really. Someone could use a PACER account to see if anything else exists on this one.
It's interesting that William Kinsel responded about 2 weeks (sorry) after AI's initial filing. I see no public sign of response yet in -this- case, even though it's been about 3 weeks.

I suppose a *shrug* is appropriate here.
